"Be careful what you say..." re: Dan Simpson Pittsburgh Post Gazette,
top choice by State Dept to go to Sudan, but: <snip>I told the State Department that and was told that they would proceed with seeking urgent clearance for the appointment. I was called the next day and told, after I did some digging, that the assignment had been rejected at the political level. The initial reason given was that my medical and security clearances were out of date. I knew that wasn't it. Those can easily be updated; I had retired only in 2001.
I asked for the truth. What it turned out to be was writing that I had done for the Post-Gazette that had offended the Bush administration. Particularly cited was a column I did ("Her Leader's Voice," Jan. 26) </pg/05026/447852.stm)> on Condoleezza Rice's confirmation hearings. So, I am not going to Khartoum ........ It was obviously the Bush administration's call, whether to send me or not.<snip>

2. More crap from the Bush administration
It isn't to hard to see why the MSM is not following up on important stories. They get shut down by brute force on a regular basis.

I still believe that there is a large body of journalists out there who want to tell the important stories, but they get shut down by editors and politicians. This "gonna cost you" attitude from the Bush administration is getting old. And it will catch up with him. But we have to take initiative, too.

4. Maybe I am missing the outrage here
but I fail to see why Bush or any other President should be expected to appoint ambassadors who disagree with their policies. It might be nice if they did, but I don't see them having to.

6. Let me say it...babies, juniors,, seventh graders.
Snotty, infantile kids make up this administration and are creating death and enemies all over the world and spending everything we have and don't have.

This is one revengeful, undisciplined, irresponsible, juvenile cabal.

Who let them run this show.

Tell me one Responsible, American, Patriotic thing that they have done.

R A P. The youngest Dem to vote is more RAP - a ResponsibleAmericanPatriot

Expose seventh grade behavior of this administration.

this sort of bully behavior.
Nor would they tolerate the habitual lying and spinning.

We have a pres who displays behavior that would be considered completely unacceptable in our kids.
