2. The neoCONspirators' plan has ALWAYS been to DESTROY SSI.
They NEVER intended to "fix" it.

They HATE, HATE, HATE programs which advance opportunities for or the best interests of all Americans.

They want to go back to predatory power-mongering.

they hate the social net period
The social net is composed of a lot of parts- welfare, food stamps, unemploymnet, and of course, social security. When people have these things, they have some power- they don't have to keep this job that makes you work overtime, or in unsafe conditions. They can afford to whistle blow and have time to educate themselves.

In the early days of the unions they were willing to jail, murder, blacklist, and otherwise abuse anyone trying to gain power- just a smidgeon of power, from the bosses. What makes anyone think that the people on top have changed?

5. Yep, so how do we stop the turd from opening his big hole...
...and continually lying about this issue? Even Greenspasam keeps telling the committees he appears before that social security is insolvent. Is this an issue to divide the elderly and the youth of this country? By pitching the young against the old our houses and families are truly divided. I've worked and paid into social security at the maximum level for over 40 years. My wife of 30 years passed away 10 years ago and I continued to work and contribute. I've had my own business for the past 15 years and have a modest retirement plan (insurance/IRA), but those took a major hit in this last republican engineered recession and have been slow to bounce back. I am delaying retirement to maximize my benefits. So, without SS benefits and survivors benefits, I'll not be able to cope financially when I go into retirement in three years. I feel like I am being directly assaulted by Bush's looting strategy against SS.

6. Here's another theory.
There are many respected economist in the US and around the world such as Krugman and Pat Choate, who believe that we are headed for a severe economic downturn within the next couple of years. This could result in the Neocons, who are running this country, to be thrown into the political trash dump of history where they belong. An infusion of capitol into the private sector could temporarily delay the inevitable until after the congressional or perhaps even the next presidential election. Another tax cut would be absurd, but diverting capitol from ss could have the same effect.

10. People in Wall Street firms have several concerns
1. Liability if things go bad
2. Too many small acocounts to administer
3. Stock/bond inflation
4. Dismantling a good program
5. Who gets favored?
