Franken says he will announce if he will run for Senate

I think the guy is brilliant and would be a great voice in the Senate.

The problem is that if he would run it would justify (at least in their minds) all the RW's accusations about a liberal media, even though they are the ones who usually elect celebrities.

6. Minnesota has one of each party's Senators:

Norm Coleman, a Republican, and Mark Dayton, a Democrat. Al would run against the Republican, Coleman.

...he's the one whose seat is going to be available. Since it's Dayton's seat that's up for grabs, it won't be against Coleman, whose seat doesn't come up 'til '08, I think.

I didn't know about Coleman's seat not being up until 2008. In that case he probably won't run.
