PNAC and neocon Agenda group! I need your support for it!!
I started this thread in ATA about it:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=120&topic_id=29292#29554

As per group submission rules we need a mission statement and 10 donors.

Personally I want to see a focus on these things.

---------------------------------------------------------------------
A list of all known neocons (i.e. people who might not have signed PNAC but have said they are neocons or have given full support to either PNAC or the neocons as a group)

Research and community journalism dedicated to finding out connections between the people listed (above) and groups that could tarnish the reputations of those connected with said groups. What Im hoping to find are third and fourth parties connected in such a way that would leave most Republicans with a very sour taste in their mouths.

A list of correlations between the PNAC/neocon agenda and actual actions undertaken by our government.

Listing of anti PNAC/neocon sites and links.

A listing of the factions in the right wing and their main and most divisive differences. One of the primary goals is to arm ourselves with information that we can take to moderates to show that they voted against their own beliefs.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

So does anyone else out there support this? Have anything to add? Mission statement? Something to delete?

Please post on this thread if you do!

Thanks for your interest.
peace,
fric

5. How would this be served better by creating a PNAC forum...
...rather than having PNAC threads in other existing fora?

That's something you need to clarify before a group is formed.

7. Good question!
It focuses the attention and threads in an investigative and informative format.

It doesnt mean there wont be PNAC threads in other areas, but it does centralize the information for those of us into the ideas I stated in the OPs both here and in ATA.

Skinner seemed to be ok with the distinctions I outlined there... are you looking for even more specifics? I am hesitant to do that because as was discussed briefly in the ATA thread we dont want to be too narrow in focus yet also not so broad as to lose the focus on the intended mission.

What are your ideas???

17. Would want to leverage the message delivered in ...
Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 02:35 PM by understandinglife
...."Hijacking Catastrophe."

http://www.informationclearinghouse.info/article6895.htm

And, would continue developing the "rules of engagement" with the Bu$h theocratic neoCON regime, as contributions to this group.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=203x321092

And, would find ways to be supportive of the ongoing activities of the US Center for Constitutional Rights.

And, an essential outcome of the activities of this group is to focus the attention of those seeking election reform on the fact that we must absolutely eliminate any opportunity for software-based, secret vote counting or any other form of unsupervised vote counting.

Peace.

should be To list and PUBLICIZE the correlations between the PNAC/neocon agenda and actual actions undertaken by our government.

We need to let the people know what is being done in their name.

19. I support the idea
I've wanted to find a group this for awhile. I've put some time into checking things out and I believe that many current events, including the SS overhaul, the new budget priorities, new space warfare initiatives, obviously the Iraq war, and our evolving foreign policy, was laid out in PNAC documents as early as '99 and 2000. Also important are links to things such as the earlier "Wolfowitz Doctrine".

One idea would be to have a group research project of sorts with different members researching different areas.

I just heard Robert Kagan on NPR....speaking about Condisleeza's trip to Europe and the US's relationship with the UN. He stated that we should try to work with the UN, but we shouldn't allow them to get in the way of our goals. I know what he means because I know who he is.
When giving Mr. Kagan's credentials - NPR did not mention of PNAC.

You don't know how many Republican relatives I've tried to inform about the PNAC - they absolutely refuse to acknowledge the fact that there is a group of militant right-wingers who are playing wargames with America's foreign policy strategies.

38. I support it, too (better late than never)
Sorry, didn't see this earlier.

I wholeheartedly support this forum (didn't plan on flying anywhere during this lifetime anyway, and those civil rights are long gone...)

I would like to see a focus on how the Iraq war was sold to the country with buzzwords taken almost directly out of PNAC's letters & documents.

Phrases such as:

"weapons of mass destruction"
"containment of Saddam Hussein"
"biological, chemical, and nuclear weapons"
"US policy should have as its explicit goal removing Saddamn Hussein's regime from power and establishing a peaceful & democratic Iraq in its place."

All that's just from one letter. I won't even go into the little matter of the "new Pearl Harbor" in this post (except to say that the reference is on page 51 of "Rebuilding America's Defenses" from the PNAC website - gee, wasn't that convenient for them?)

Ooooh, yes indeedy-do, I definitely support this forum!

(Quotations from a letter to Newt Gringrich & Trent Lott, 29 May 1998, complaining that Clinton didn't do anything when they asked him to get rid of Saddam. Signed by such notables as Donald Rumsfeld, Paul Wolfowitz, & William Kristol.)

This is going to be a most excellent exchange of information and ideas.

Now that I know that there is at least 13 of us out here who want to explore it in depth this way... well I feel like we are some musically political street gang ala West Side Story meets Hair meets The Wall or Wizard of Oz... I'm not sure on that last one yet  maybe both?

32. I fully support this, but be warned, some will be very angry.
See, there are a few Dems who support PNAC and its policies, up to and including formally endorsing their views and goals in writing (Will Marshall, you fucking traitor, I'm looking at you).

So it will get heated, no question. That said, it is vital it be examined.

37. Well at the moment we wait for Skinner to set up the group...lol.
After that as people start to post pertinent info and get comfortable with the group we'll start filtering out the best candidates for investigation. Before we get to that though we'll need to get all of the links and lists together in a few threads and maybe get them stickied to the top of the group for reference.

Other than things I stated in the OP I am personally interested in seeing what the group does organically of its own accord and whim, that'll be where any of the good stuff comes out of.
