3. FEBRUARY 2004
"I GOT SMEARED!"

For the second time in as many weeks, the liberal media has taken a shot at me. Recently an article appeared in the Washingtonian magazine’s online feature, Washington Buzz entitled, “Can White House Stay on Message Amid Leaks?”. In it, political writer Harry Jaffe tried to make the point that the alleged leak of a CIA agent’s name by someone in the administration has caused problems for a White House that had been otherwise effective in maintaining a unified front in dealing with the press corps. MORE

Check THAT out.

5. You guys HAVE to read this stuff.
Here is more from that Feb. 2004 article. The guy named Jaffe KNEW Gannon was a repuke operative a year ago and said as much:

But Jaffe suggested that the White House is reacting to the negative reporting by attacking members of the press corps. He wrote:

“There are signs the White House may be going on the offensive, striking back at reporters it considers too aggressive. Both Moran and NBC’s David Gregory were singled out in a dispatch published in Talon News, a news service sponsored by GOPUSA, a Republican Party news service.”

He’s talking about me! Jaffe is claiming that I am a Republican Party operative instructed by the White House to write a hit piece on these two reporters. Both of those allegations are totally and completely false.

End quote. Hmmm, totally and completely false, huh? So here we have him LYING.

23. "totally and completely"
really?

both totally and completely? If it was just totally false, that could be forgiven, but it's also completely false?

26. LOL - below are details on the Fake Reporter operation Howie Kurtz defends
This the "Jeff Gannon" operation that Howie Kurtz insists is a legitimate News Org that should be a standard question asker at White House news briefings.

In 1999 aerospace engineer Bobby Eberle started a Web-design company for Republican candidates. Eberle is the president and CEO of both GOPUSA, a news and commentary Website, whose motto is "Bringing the conservative message to America" and Talon. Brother Bruce Earle started GOPUSA and is CEO of Virginia-based Eberle Communications Group, a vast fundraising/direct mail/PR powerhouse that boasts such clients as Ronald Reagan, Operation Rescue, Oliver North and Paula Jones, and which illegally sold fund-raising lists to John Ashcroft during his failed United States Senate run for the seat from Missouri.

GOPUSA now gets about 30,000 page views every day. In 2000, when it started, it received about 3,000 views per month. GOPUSA is a 100 percent volunteer-run company. Bobby Eberle has served as president of the Houston Young Republicans, director of club development of the Texas Young Republican Federation and as a three-term state chairman of the Texas Young Republican Federation. He was a delegate to the 2000 Republican Convention in Philadelphia and was vice chairman at large of the Young Republican National Federation. In July 2003 he spoke on "Should Americans Who Don't Pay Taxes Have a Say?", asserting those who do not pay actual cash as a tax collected by the Federal Income Tax should not have a vote - no other tax collection payment should qualify one for a vote, but would give everyone the vote once the Federal Income Tax is replaced by a consumption tax.

Eberle notes. We have about 50 people involved nation wide with the day-to-day operations. We have folks in 40 of the 50 states who help update their state sections with news and commentary. Our e-mail magazine goes out on Mondays. And all that with no paid advertising. I believe in personal responsibility rather than collectivism, so it never occurred to me to call the Democrats. What I really like about Bush is that he stays on message and keeps coming. Family: Wife Kathleen, a physician children; Charlotte 7 and Robert III ("Tres"); Roman Catholic. Insists genuine religious faith inevitably influences political opinions http://www.gopusa.com/ http://www.talonnews.com/

http://www.dkosopedia.com/index.php/Eberle_Communications_Group

Eberle Communications Group, is a fundraising/direct marketing/PR firm with extensive ties to Republican Party politics (clients list includes Reagan, Ollie North, Paula Jones) and whose is CEO of the Virginia-based company is Bruce Eberle, whose brother owns GOPUSA and the "news agency" Talon News and its White House correspondent "Jeff Gannon" is well-known for asking loaded pro-Republican questions at White House press briefings, and appears to be more a political organization than a media outlet From Right wing FreeRepublic website http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1075501/posts?page=264 "02/10/2004 This was the exchange at today's White House press briefing, much of which focused on George W. Bush's service records with the National Guard: JEFF GANNON (Talon News): Since there have been so many questions about what the President was doing over 30 years ago, what is it that he did after his honorable discharge from the National Guard? Did he make speeches alongside Jane Fonda, denouncing America's racist war in Vietnam? Did he testify before Congress that American troops committed war crimes in Vietnam? And did he throw somebody else's medals at the White House to protest a war America was still fighting? What was he doing after he was honorably discharged?

MR. McCLELLAN: We've already commented on some of his views relating back to that period the other day. And, obviously, this was a time period also when he was going to get his MBA at Harvard. But the President was certainly proud to serve in the National Guard.

TERRY MORAN (ABC NEWS): And would the White House consider those actions by Senator Kerry, that Jeff mentions fair game in the political season?

MR. McCLELLAN: Terry, I think -- I know that that's a way to try to draw us into a Democratic primary that is ongoing.

Eberle Communications Group is:

Omega List Company

ECG's Company Officers are listed on 1/31/05 as:

Black America's Political Action Committee (BAMPAC) supports conservative policies and African-American candidates, even though numerous candidates listed on its website were either Caucasian or Hispanic. Its name misleadingly suggests that it represents the point of view of African-Americans, but in fact opinion polls and voting patterns show that the vast majority of African-Americans disagree with BAMPAC's political positions.

8. More
To say that I lack credibility because I ask questions that don’t assume the President is an illegitimate, corrupt, lying, warmongering extremist is laughable. It seems that I am virtually alone in trying to balance out the agenda-driven questions so that the full story can be told. Apparently the President sees it that way as well, since he recently spoke out about the filtering that news gets about events in Iraq.

While I get twisted up for a bit over these kinds of things, I have come to know that it is part of the territory. As my editor wisely observes, if my reporting is being noticed, I’m doing my job. That’s my agenda.

11. And more....
ooooh he even has a gossip column!!!

Stories from inside the White House briefing room

As the White House Correspondent for Talon News, I see and hear some of the most amazing things from my colleagues - the media stars and journalistic elites.

ABC Doesn't Get Snub

Ann Compton, a correspondent for ABC news, recently delivered her news report on a Washington, DC talk show and then spent a few moments chatting with the hosts.

President Bush had just given an exclusive interview to a London tabloid, The Sun. She noted that the newspaper was owned by Rupert Murdoch and lamented that ABC was unable to get a similar interview with the President.

Why might she think that ABC deserves to have special access to President Bush? Perhaps poor Ann hasn't heard Terry Moran's accusatorial questions at the White House briefings. Maybe she is in a bar every night during Peter Jenning's broadcast. It's anybody's guess what she's doing on Sunday mornings when a former Clinton spokesman conducts the worst of the network news shows.

"The media stars and journalistic elites?" Do I detect raging jealousy?

13. HANG on a second:
Apparently "Gannon" has had his articles on Drudge. So, um, wonder why Drudge has gone so strangely silent on Gannon now?

"In the first week of November, I wrote a story for Talon News:

GOP Head Says Daschle 'More Beatable' in 2004 *

The article was featured on the Drudge Report on the Tuesday it was published. That day, nearly 8 million readers visited Matt Drudge's site. By Thursday, the Sioux Falls (SD) Argus Leader's David Kranz had written a rebuttal piece:"

16. A repost of some info on GOP/USA
Edited on Thu Feb-10-05 02:47 AM by caligirl
From Americablog.org repost, internet shredding,

From:the comments section feb 9

And Talon is literally on the move...Hang on, folks...things could get bumpy....

http://www.leadpencil.net/blog/archives/000234.html

Much is being made of the 'resignation' of Jeff Gannon, a faux-journalist suspected of being a conservative shill in the White House press briefing room and now also believed to have some ties to lifestyles that don't jibe with the party lines.

But what about Talon News? According to whois records, talonnews.com is owned by Endeavor Media Group in Houston TX -- a company with a PO Box and a fake phone number listing. When checking on endeavormediagroup.com in whois, the same info comes up -- but endeavormediagroup.com is a Forbidden domain. Also, googling "endeavor media group" gets you nothing. It's like this company doesn't exist.

And it didn't -- until Monday.
--------------------------------
ON edit:

So what's the deal? Talon News changed ownership right around the time the Jeff Gannon controversy was about to boil over.

But wait, there's more.

Talon News' "#1 client" GOPUSA.com, is also, as of Monday, owned by Endeavor.

18. BWA!!!
He thinks he's going to get a book published:

"While you are waiting for my someday to be published book,
The Hypocrisy of Liberalism, in which I outline the fallacy of
liberalism as a political philosophy, try reading some of these:"

I don't know what's more sad: that he actually thinks he'll get a book published, or that the title has hypocrisy in it. I guess he'd know a lot about that concept.

good thing, the Eberle/Gannon people are shredding everything and tomorrow unless you know how to look, except google archives, there won't be anything obvious left.
