I think Rove and his media whores will kill the Gannon & Plame
scandals with one stone. Rove will rig it so that Gannon is blamed for the Plame outing, so that little bit of treason will be swept away with the shill/pimp story. Of course, maybe WaPo or NYT will actually investigate......

MUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

1. But I don't get it --
Gannon is just a reporter (at best) like Novak -- he can't be blamed for the leak. SOMEONE must have leaked to him.

This won't solve anything for them.

(My hope is the WH will distance itself from Gannon as fast as possible, Gannon will feel betrayed, and will blab. My fingers are crossed, anyway.)

these people aren't equipped to think for themselves. He'll fall on his sword before he betrayed (in his opinion anyway) the chimp.

3. If Gannon is nailed for the Plame leak,
he'll talk and implicate big time, so they will have to try to make the story go away.

5. true, gannon is your typical reTHUGlican moron....he's no novak

novak has been working OUR Nation's Capital for years and years...and KNOWS how to keep quiet, and stay out of prison....

gannon is really TOO STUPID to play the 'big time' political games....gannon is ripe for taking the fall...and agree, he'll fall hard and SING A SONG....hell, this idiot is already giving interviews on NPR, etc......chatting it up on websites, etc.....

one moment, gannon was BIG TIME, White House press corps, shill for the radical religiously-insane reTHUGlicans, pulling in the BIG BUCKS, bragging on his web site about his SUV, and his BIG gun...running his male prostitution rings with the powerful polical men...and suddenly, unexpectedly, BLAM...he's out.....

real out...and in the sights of rove for taking the BIG fall on a TREASON charge....whoaaaa hoooo.....

this stupid idiot will sing, and maybe take a LOT of people with him....if he had any sense at all, he'd SHUT UP and go into hiding...

6. Time to hold their feet to the fire
We can't let this allow them to deep six propaganda_gate and plame at the same time.

And I don't think that will happen as Fitsgerald seems to be on his own mission and there is a resignation and new appointment around every corner when it comes to Plame. Look at who replaced Tenet, and Gonzales has brought many of his staff into the Justice(?) dept.

There are so many trails, so much deceit in this Administration. Four years is a long time for them to keep all their lies straight.

If we had the same media we had in the 60/70's I'd call them toast. But they're more savvy than that and the media has rolled over. It may be that only a deafening roar from the blogosphere that the\ MSM can't ignore will change things.

4. Some of them are total automatons, I agree...
But some are just out for themselves. If they get burned, they might burn back.

This guy, with his escort side-business, seems like a guy who'll say anything for a buck -- not necessarily someone with loyalty.

Guess we'll see, huh.

7. This should be a huge story by now, but other than
E&P, NPR and a very quiet after hours press release, there is no mention of this story other than on the net.

This story effects the cream of reporters, the WH Press. But they are quiet. This sure does say a lot about how much the WH Press and all the media are in the pocket of the RNC.

8. This story won't pick up steam
mark my words. It's appalling, but that's exactly why no one will cover it.

9. Shameful, Conflicted Beltway Media
Reading the info on Kos and other sites today, it amazed me how the GOOP could pluck someone literally off the streets and manufacture a "journalist", without a single one of the "established" journalists even questioning the dude's background or credentials. No self-regulation or even a modicum of integrity left.

My bets are even if some of these "journalists" knew, they'd be afraid to come out and say so since they're more worried about their access and status than in the truth and ethics. They have stood by as this regime not only uses them, but flaunts it in their faces and knows that they'll put a kabosh on this scandal as quickly as they can...since it hits too close to home.

Not not ago I saw the Washington POST White House reporter...the same paper that a long, long time ago brought down a crooked regime...who might as well have been writing RNC Press Releases. He gushed about his "special access" and the "nuances" of when to ask questions...and how "really open" this regime is. I had to do a double-take and make sure this guy wasn't from the Moonie Times.

It's sad when journalism is so brow-beaten, bought off and conflicted, they can't even function as the safegard of government largess and abuse.

I'm already seeing people going after "Gannon's" sexuality and flying off into lots of tin foil hat connections...which some may fit...but that dilutes the issue.

Gannongate (I hate the "gate" term, too), should focus on the role the media is playing in enabling this regime's pillage and it's conflicts of interest. It also has to focus on the connections and money trails between the various clandestine and barely legal PACs and other "special interest" groups that launder GOOP cash that goes into journalists pockets...or when they can't be bought, to manufacture them.
