Rep. Conyers Demands Recusals in Valerie Plame Case
http://forum.truthout.org/blog/story/2005/2/8/162259/2162

A letter from Rep. John Conyers to newly-minted Attorney General Alberto Gonzales:

February 8, 2005

The Honorable Alberto Gonzales
Attorney General of the United States
U.S. Department of Justice
950 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
Washington, DC 20530

Dear Mr. Attorney General:

As you are likely aware, Deputy Attorney General James Comey appointed U.S. Attorney Patrick Fitzgerald to head the Justice Department's investigation of a Bush Administration official's leak of an undercover CIA operative's name, Valerie Plame. We understand that you have recused yourself from the case because of your role as White House Counsel. We hope that you now will seek the recusal of your three top aides, Chief of Staff Ted Ullyot, Deputy Chief of Staff Kyle Sampson, and Counselor Raul Yanes, for the same reason.

4. Whoa ... he figured out what was up ...
and he called them on it.

I'm proud of him.

Also, this has the unintended (or intended?) benefit of refocusing attention on the Plame case. It sort of was forgotten - especially right before the election.

7. Does Conyers Ever Sleep?
He seems to have his eye on everything. A dozen more like him and we could clean up Congress once and for all.

9. I applaud Conyers for keeping after this...but, he has no power

to get them to listen. The "Independent Council Statute" is dead after the millions spent on "Hunting of Clinton" and the most we Dems have left are "Documentation" for folks long after us to read as "The Record" and it becomes a "toothless barking dog," in the immediacy of what we need to do to Impeach the Chimp.

Still...I applaud him. It will go NOWHERE..though. They WON...another fraudulent election and our own Party refused once again to contest.

They own it all...Conyers and Waxman are great as "the Resistance." But...it's DOA...
