Thank You and Get Out
Ali Sistani has apparently played Bush for a sucker. Bush praises freedom and democracy, and when the Iraqis make it clear they want us out, what's Bush going to do?

Does Bush have a trick up his sleeve to keep this from happening? The Iraqi people have never welcomed our soldiers, and the election makes clear the resistance will continue. When Ali Sistani shows us the gate, he'll say Thank you and get out. What will we have to show for the sacrifices our troops have made?

2. If Sistani says 'get out' there will be an unfortunate terrorist
incident, which he will not survive. At which time, we declare with quivering outrage, that the terrorists will never win and we will stay until they are defeated.

Any bets?

3. I think Nancy Pelosi said it best
she said she was quite certain, and she sounded very certain, that whatever Iraqi government takes over, they're not going to ask the Bush administration to do anything the Bush administration doesn't want to do.

8. You watch, Allawi will start making a comeback in the polls.
And, finally, when they get down to the Ohiostan providence, he will make a "remarkable" comback, despite exit polling.
But, unlike Kerry, Sistani will have his people out in orange burkas protesting.

;)

4. There is no way
we are leaving the second largest oil field in the world. Anything can happen. The vote could be questioned and ruled invalid. Sunni's or black ops disguised as Sunni's can assassinate Shia's who don't want to go along with us. Sistani can be exposed as an Iranian puppet, which may be closer to the truth than we know. There are lots options open to our secret government.

5. I hope they do say that, but...
I have never believed that little bullshit story of his that we'll leave if they ask us.
Don't know exactly what he'll do, perhaps a little right wing shuffle? Perhaps another 'terrorist attack' here at home that they can conveniently blame on Al Sistani?

At this point, though, I don't really care anymore about having something to show for the sacrifices our troops have made, as long as the ones who are still alive get to come home.

Theres nothing that we, the people, could ever gain from this clusterfuck that could justify the American (or Iraqi) lives lost.
We need to get the hell out of Dodge, but we'll never do that as long as Bushco has one thin dime to gain.

6. Oh we'll get out alright ...
get out of the cities, so our troops can move to guard the pipelines. We will turn over law & order operations (civil war) to the Iraqis, but our troops will stay in Iraq to guard the oil facilities. None of this makes sense until you look at it as an oil grab. Then, the seemingly surprising developments make sense.

7. What will we have to show for it? Just a little thing called "Freedom"!
Saddam Hussein had all of the people in shakles making them work as slave labor all the while building remote drones with nukes attached to 'em and collaborating with terrorists to fly planes into our biggest symbols of Freedom.

Haven't you been listening? Don't you read the paper?

See? Right here in the King James version of the Qu'ran it says "Hate Freedom, Kill Infidels, Embrace Allah." See? See?

Don't worry, very soon we will hunt down the terrorist Sistani and bring him to "Justice".

The press can't remember back more than 6 months and neither can American voters.

11. I remember hearing a BBC journalist interviewing Sadr
and asking him why God would send the American infidels in to get rid of his arch-enemy Saddam. His reply, "God works in mysterious ways..."

I know Sistani and Sadr aren't the same person, but I think they will want us out immediately. Of course, 'Murkins will then pout about how we "saved their asses" (a la the moranic whine about France and "old" Europe) and how they must do our bidding forever. Meanwhile, the Iranian Shiites have staged a major victory by infiltrating the highest levels of our government with Chalabi and using us to rid the region of the secular Hussein.
