Cheney: social security overhaul will cost trillions
By Christopher Lee
February 8, 2005

The US Government would need to borrow trillions of dollars over the next few decades to cover the cost of the private retirement accounts at the heart of President George Bush's plan to revamp social security, the Vice-President, Dick Cheney, has acknowledged.

In a TV interview on Sunday, Mr Cheney said the Government would have to borrow $US754 billion ($976 billion) over the next 10 years, and conceded that the price tag would involve borrowing trillions of dollars more in subsequent decades.

"That's right. Trillions more after that," Mr Cheney said in response to a question.

Ain't it groovy?

6. It's surrealist policymaking.
The Left needs to broaden it's mind towards the possiblities of public policy. Unshackled by the constraints of reason and logic, our government can truly express the irrational force of the id. While liberals spew forth banalities about the public good and improving our nation, the neocons are opening the doors of perception and paving the way to a radical freedom of the mind and spirit.
