The Backlash Hath Cometh
I'm watching C-Span and EVERY SINGLE CALLER, whether they support Bush or not, is BLASTING the Bush budget, either for the cuts in Medicaid, the cuts in Veterans Benefits, Social Security and tax cuts for the rich.
Some people have SPECIFICALLY said they supported Bush, but DO NOT support this budget.

Have the sheeple awoken now that the thief is at their pocketbook?

2. Hahahaha! Now a New Yorker is on and says,
"What do people expect from a draft-dodging president? You should ask people whether they voted for Bush for his budget or his jinoistic, strategically placed wedge issues. It's all tax cuts for the rich. It's all on the poor."

LOL!

Sic' em!

20. But, but, but...
But, gay marriage is so much more important to the future of our country than such small things like an insane foreign policy and reckless fiscal policies. I mean, get your priorities straight!

31. That's the only thing he cares about.
Tax cuts for the rich & the elimination of capital gains taxes.

Boy George doesn't give a rat's ass about abortion, gay marriage, or any other social issue.

How does it feel to be played, you mouth-breathing fools who actually thought he would shove your agenda on the rest of us? He doesn't need you anymore.

He got his second term. He went one-up on Poppy. He showed Jebbie who's the big man.

3. Asshole morons. I'm not going to have any compassion for right-wingers
who wake up to realize their nest-egg is being threatened by the man who they put into power. They're idiots for not seeing this coming. And if they couldn't predict this, what else did they fail to consider?

11. Psy-ops have been waged against the American people.
I suppose we could be grateful that nearly half were not so vulnerable or unaware as to have been completely brainwashed.

Over time, more and more people will awaken as reality becomes increasingly painful.

33. My psychologist friend
said that both parties do this - they have studied the neuroscience of the brain and how it reacts to certain words, ideas, and Bushie and company do this all of the time.

Certain words get parts of your brain going:
terror
freedom
liberty
mushroom cloud (Rice)
dirty bomb (Cheney: There is a good possibility, if Kerry is elected, that we will see a dirty bomb in one of our cities."

It IS a miraculous thing that so much of our population are cognizant enough to NOT be affected by this. The rational brain triumph over the reptilian brain, I think.

28. IMO not mind control, but mind viruses...
check this discussion out:

http://cscs.umich.edu/~crshalizi/Dawkins/viruses-of-the-mind.html

<snip>

"I have already alluded to the programmed-in gullibility of a child, so useful for learning language and traditional wisdom, and so easily subverted by nuns, Moonies and their ilk. More generally, we all exchange information with one another. We don't exactly plug floppy disks into slots in one another's skulls, but we exchange sentences, both through our ears and through our eyes. We notice each other's styles of moving and dressing and are influenced. We take in advertising jingles, and are presumably persuaded by them, otherwise hard-headed businessmen would not spend so much money polluting the air with them.

Think about the two qualities that a virus, or any sort of parasitic replicator, demands of a friendly medium,. the two qualities that make cellular machinery so friendly towards parasitic DNA, and that make computers so friendly towards computer viruses. These qualities are, firstly, a readiness to replicate information accurately, perhaps with some mistakes that are subsequently reproduced accurately; and, secondly, a readiness to obey instructions encoded in the information so replicated."

That is why the first debate between Kerry and Bush, which had Bush looking like a drooling idiot, was actually a loss for Kerry because of his "global test" line. We have been bred to be a nation of idiots, willfully submitting to authority and government control. We believe what we see or hear without thinking critically about it.

After I read this, I quit watching television. Except for the SImpsons of course.

4. Have the sheeple awoken?
I seriously doubt it. SERIOUSLY! I think maybe they have after EVERY major * fuckup. I'm sad to say if it hasn't happened yet, it never will. Bushbots are programmed. No budget is gonna make them falter. They may hate the budget, but they still love the man and will support him even if he says to kill puppies with ball-peen hammers.

17. Has the Sleeper Awakened?
No, I don't think so. Maybe for a moment or three, but the apathy lulls them back I think. Kinna like 'Oh, look what this guy we love is doing to us!'. Then...15 minutes later, they rationalize it. 'Oh well, its still better than Kerry, I didn't trust him.'

And somehow they miss the irony in that. :spank:

As a side note...

...support him even if he says to kill puppies with ball-peen hammers.

What a vile alliteration! :silly:

14. Have the "red staters" come out of their coma?
Hey, as long as we don't let Gays and Lesbians marry the country will be alright. They swallowed the krazy kowboy's kool-aid before the election, and now they have buyer's remorse? Too effing bad, we told you, we warned you, we did everything we could do within the law to wake your sorry asses up, but you rejected us. We were "blue staters", the elite, educated snobs that just wanted to rub your noses in Gay and Lesbian marriage. Well, it was YOUR guy that rubbed your noses in it. HE'S the one that made such an issue out of it.
You wanted to send a message to we "blue staters" that YOU were the majority and you supported pResident bush because you ARE the REAL Americans.
Kiss my ever lovin' ass you "red state" simpletons. Without we "blue staters" you wouldn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it from. WE are the ones who drive the economy, not some idiot from Bugtussel who runs a souvenir shop next to the world's biggest ball of string in Nebraska.
Go ahead, ask us for help getting you out from under the crushing debt that "your guy" is heaping upon you now. "I didn't know"........WE TOLD YOU! You wouldn't listen, you were going to teach us a lesson. Next time, leave the lesson teaching to someone capable of it.
Sorry, I just get a little pissed off when morons who can't program a VCR tell us they've made an intelligent decision when voting for a reject from a jungle park for President. Fucking idiots.

THEY voted for the ashole, now they get what they deserve!

Yeah, it'll hurt ME, too...but I can stand back and say I DIDN'T VOTE FOR THIS!!! I VOTED KERRY!!

No, I've no sympathy for them. Unless they sign a pledge now, and carry thru with it. I want them to sign a loyalty oath that from now on, and forever more, they will vote ONLY for Democrats! THEN, maybe I'll sympathize with them, welcome them back, and help them begin the slow process of healing from having been brainwashed,

Till then, fuck 'em.

16. The voice of nihilism (again)
What did that cartoon say? "All I want for Christmas is to be proven embarassingly wrong." "Don't you get tired of wishing for the same thing every year?"

Anyway.

It's not going to make a goddamn bit of difference. The elite are going to do whatever they want, and any backlash from Joe Public will just be ignored.

The media will sweep it all under the rug and tell us over and over again that the vast majority of Americans just LOOOOOOOOOOVE * and think his ideas are just spiffy. Their main job is to keep up the illusion that "unbelievers" like us are in the extreme minority. They do this job very well.

If there ever looks like there might be enough public outcry to break this illusion, then we'll just be presented with something else to fight over (like gay marriage, purple hearts, or whatever). Anything nice and safe to keep us distracted with our petty squabbles so we'll leave the elite alone. We as a society are very vulnerable to this.

In short, we are all too fucking stupid to ever do anything about anything. We have handed all our power over in exchange for HDTV and cell phones, and we're not getting it back.

18. The Campus Crusade on my campus
convinced a significant number of students, given the circumstances, to vote for * on abortion alone. Wait until they find out that the Perkins Loans are going by the wayside. He's already cut Pell Grants to our demographic.

It used to be the case that if you wanted to know what was going on you asked a college student. Now, I continually ask in class "did you knwo that this past week...?" and get blank stares in return. But they know what happened on Fear Factor. Sad.

I believe they are a tax-exempt organization.

I was involved in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship my freshman year of college, and they never would have had us out trolling for votes for any candidate, even if that person was a member.

19. My husband couldn't wait to get to work today.
He works with a bunch of guys who also farm and depend on the subsidies to keep their farms afloat. Most of them voted for *. Among the ones who didn't is one who has never voted and doesn't know how--didn't even know you needed to register to vote. But he thinks * is a tough guy and good for the economy. These guys clearly didn't see this one coming and kissing the farm subsidies bye-bye will be a shocker.

My guy--gonna stir up a little stink today.
