Freepers and Vietnam/Iraq...
Was bottom-dredging over in Freeperville and came up with some truly delusional shit about the comparison between Vietnam and Iraq.

Any wonder they think Iraq is gonna be a big WIN?
- - -
"We want these leftists to keep making the Vietnam comparison so that people will become aware that in 1973 the war had been won and South Vietnam was standing on its own two feet with the help of the military supplies that we were providing them."
- - -

"What many Freepers know, but the liberal loonies will never admit, is that we were WINNING in Vietnam after Westmoreland was replaced. We clobbered the Vietcong in the Tet Offensive."
- - -

"If we had stuck it out for a few more years, we would have won. We wouldn't have had those Killing Fields, which the Democrats somehow managed to blame on Richard Nixon."
- - - - -

"There are a lot of Vets like myself who have witnessed their lies and sedetion. It's time to set up a HUAC type commission to investigate the activities of some of the Senators and Representatives who have been representing the US Citizens and find out if they have been defending the Constitutional Republic or Undermining it in favor of Socialism. To find out what agreements they have enteres into with the UN without the knowledge and approval of the American People!"

2. He can't help being delusional.
It must be nice to live in that fantasyland where you can rewrite history so easily.

I wouldn't pay it too much mind. Someday someone will say the same thing about the Iraqi elections.

3. Freepers also say that slaves were happy
Let's list the crap freepers are promoting lately:

1. American slaves were happy and much better off as slaves.

2. We were winning the war in Vietnam until Oliver Stone made us quit.

3. If gay people pray hard enough, they won't get those urges.

4. Tolerance is bad, m'kay?

5. When the war in the Middle East gets really really bad, Jesus will come back.

4. The last one is a hoot
Good to see he's so vigilant about US leaders making decisions "without the knowledge and approval of the American People."

6. I'm Betting None Were Alive During Nam...
The South was standing on it's own two in 1973? Uh, hey hero, what the hell happened in April, 1975? Ya know when the North Vietnamese Army just rolled down the coastal highway and walked right into Saigon. Yeah, it was sure standing.

We pounded the shit out of that country...over 2,000,000 dead, but military might isn't what wins wars...it only pushes the politicians. Still, we could have stayed in that country another 10 years, killed another 2,000,000 and there's be more Vietnamese ready to face us. It's called nationalism...fighting for one's country.

These human excrement remnants still haven't figured out that the Iraqis like the Vietnamese like Americans aren't too crazy about having their country occupied...especially by an oppressor whose only interests there are for taking from the country, not giving. There's no incentive for these people to want to work with or support us and as more and more of their people are killed, their towns destroyed and lives ruined, the more will take up arms and resistance until we're chased out.

I've seen a lot of "experts" on Vietnam who were in pampers or not even a "twinkle" in those days. Somehow, their 28 or so years (including 10 years of non-stop Rushbo drinking) makes them authorities on all topics and superior to all.

Their fall will be oh, so sweet.

7. And, just like in Vietnam,
A lot of conservatives who adamantly supported the war refused to serve.
