1. The Republicans don't need elections anymore to take down Democrats
Edited on Fri Feb-04-05 10:47 PM by Democat
Tom DeLay is more powerful than ever, and Shelley is out of a job.

Whoever is willing to be more, not less, corrupt, will win in politics today. The Republicans prove that corruption pays every single time.

2. I was devastated when I heard this.
We had tried so hard in our local Dems club to write letters and make telephone calls to stop it. It scares me because the fascists are taking our state over. They are just ignoring the people.

3. Will there be an election to replace him?
The article says that Arnold will replace him?

4. That's what I heard to.
I guess it's supposed to go to the legislature, but Arnold will appoint.

7. No
"He said his resignation would be effective March 1. His move paves the way for Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, a Republican, to name a replacement."

10. That means Arnold will be in charge of the next election?
Wasn't Shelley involved in trying to reform California's election system to make it more fair?

So will the Republicans now have complete control of California elections, like they do just about everywhere else?

5. From reading the article..it seems like
Shelly is blaming himself for this and wants to get out.

I'm hoping that this is one of those silver linings that we just can't see yet. Ever the eternal optimist.

6. Silver lining? They took him out because he's a Democrat
The article says that Arnold is replacing him.

He was targeted because he was a high profile Democrat.

Arnold is far more corrupt than Shelly, but the media and the people with money want Arnold in power, so he will never go down.

The California media has now helped to bring down two Democrats in the last few years.

Guess how many Republicans they right wing California media has gone after? :(

9. I know..it's NUTS!
But, I'm still hoping if things get so corrupt in California that Californians will REBEL..no matter what the media says!
