Significance of SOTU on Groundhog day
This was just e-mailed by a friend to me. Maybe some of you have already heard it, but it's a good laugh:

"Feb 2 was Groundhog Day and the State of the Union Address. As Air America Radio pointed out, it is an ironic juxtaposition: one involves a meaningless ritual in which we look to a creature of little intelligence for prognostication and the other involves a groundhog."

3. I actually wondered how many SOTU's occurred in this date
and I found an answer:

Eisenhower on February 2, 1953, and Nixon on February 2, 1973.

I also wondered how late they had been given, and it turns out the winner was Reagan on February 6, 1985.
