It was a weird morning....Kristol, Imus, and the neighborhood...
There were huge trucks on my street so I turned on the TV - Kristol was on Wash Journal, Imus told a women who called a wrong number that the person she was calling was dead, the news appearing in the banner below him was over 24 hours old, Fox was going crazy about Jackson, and some market people were continuing the second month of a new year hyperventilating about excellent growth potential.

Does anyone have statistics on the ratio of guests on Wash Journal who are AEI, PNAC, Women's Forum and all the other neo-con organizations?

Kristol personifies arrogance, deception, and smiley lies.

2. Ahhh.....William Kristol.....
Edited on Tue Feb-01-05 10:35 AM by sparosnare
caught a little bit on CSPAN this morning. He's a weasel allright. When what's-her-name asked if he was a member of PNAC, he looked down at the table and smiled then said "well, I guess I'm the chairman of PNAC". AND - he claims PNAC doesn't want a draft RIGHT NOW.

Kristol is in my top 5 of the most dangerous men in our government. (He's not elected or appointed to anything, but he has his hands in the middle of the muck).

3. I woke up to NPR and couldn't believe what I heard in 10 seconds.
Whoever that guy is that replaced Bob Edwards was saying "...so people will enlist in the military for the death benefits." I quickly slammed the radio off and thought the world has gone insaner. Yep, just like suicide bombers...Americans don't make enough money to support their families, so wallah! Die in one of our new modern wars and your survivor benefits will put food on the table!!

4. Ah, new figures out today.
Death benefits have supposedly been increased to $250,000 per dead soldier. Could this be ShrubCo's new 'draft'? :eyes:

5. Well, hard to argue with better death benefits, but
it's crazy to imagine that this would somehow increase recruiting.

Unless there are lots and lots of desperate-to-the-point of suicidal people out there...

6. Families of suicide bombers
are taken care of by the umah (spelling?). It's one of the reasons we attacked Iraq, remember?

8. I just keep remembering all those
souls who volunteered to work for Halliburton for the big bucks, even when some were getting beheaded. I think if someone is broke or desparate enough, that won't sound like such a bad deal. OTOH, I'm glad the families will benefit in some small way if they lose a loved one because of this criminal war.

that fact that i woke up to him on wash journal touting his involvement with dems asking bush to increase the size of the military was making me sick -- i turned it off and went to the gym.
