'With all the technological weapons the US has--flying drones, night
vision, sattelite GPS, laser bombs etc., what does it say about this protracted battle that is taking an average of 3 soldiers' lives a day and not stopping the "insusrgents" who we know don't have WMDs or much of anything else at their disposal, except maybe the weapons they managed to heist from us?

1. It says we have absolutely no comprehension
of our enemy.

When you approach a Middle East society based in the philosophy of power, honor, and no fear of death, using western philosophy that values life and fears death, you have a colossal mismatch.

This is the failure of our intelligence community to understand the ME going back to the 60s. Remeber the 60s? When we were facing Vietnam and the Soviet Union? Guess we kind of forgot about the ME.

2. It says we have the most ineffecient armed forces in the world.
We're not the best, just the most expensive.

No real surprises.

3. That technological stuff is all great for attacking and destroying an
opposing military force, but for day to day occupation, you need things like a lot of troops on the ground, supply lines, troops to guard the supply lines, etc. etc.
