Has anyone here ever heard of "The Dove Group"?
I just received a phone call (started out with "is the lady of the house at home" - honest) from someone representing The Dove Group. He was asking all kinds of questions about children and child raising and grandparents and other children in the area - since we have no kids I just hung up on him (after trying three times to be nice).

Anyone know anything about them? Politically driven? Fundie based? Normal group?

1. Do they make those really good ice cream bars?
You know, the ones with the milk chocolate coating that you can break off and eat by itself?

5. I got a phone call from them today also

A recording asking for me by name, and then saying that they were trying to eliminate inappropriate programming, sexual content, blah, blah, blah on television. I hung up on the computer.

I think he said it was the Dove Foundation.

Here is a link to their organization.

11. And we are both in VA
coincidence??? I think not.

They lost me on the family values talking point. I control what my children watch, not the government. Censorship is a real hot issue with me.

If you don't like what is on TV, turn it off.

16. Uh-oh
They called me like 15 times in a week. I never answered, because I don't pick up if I don't recognize the name/number on Caller ID. But I finally did. It started about 10 days ago.....

7. OMG! Total Freeper Group! They Called Me Too!!!
http://www.dove.org/frames/background.htm

They asked me the same questions, and I played along, saying some anti-gay stuff, and they got REALLY excited about THAT, let em tell you. Finally, I said, "I have to tell you, my girlfriend and I don't agree with what you're doing." (I'm female). They kinda freaked out,a nd freaked out more when I asked how the hell I got on their list. They refused to tell em, became hostile, and hung up. I called back three times and was hung up on EVERY time. Very, very interesting....

I reported them re: the Do Not Call list.

12. they also called me
I too am on the Do Not Call List.
I hung up on it.
I have been called lately, several times, by companies with recorded messages giving telephone numbers to call back. I called one and told them to remove my name from their list after giving my standard phone solicitation rant. I told them they need to get the list and use it.

17. interesting that the very first DVD for sale on their site is . . .
"The Importance of Being Earnest" . . . which, I believe, was written by one Oscar Wilde, a rather notorious and flamboyant homosexual . . . for shame! . . . :)
