*WARNING* Michael Jackson releases trial video
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 01:25 PM by underpants

Michael Jackson (news) speaks in this video released on his website on January 30, 2005. In a court-approved video statement released on his web site, Jackson said: 'In the last few weeks, a large amount of ugly, malicious information has been released into the media about me. The information is disgusting and false.' 'Please keep an open mind and let me have my day in court,' Jackson added. 'I deserve a fair trial like every other American citizen. I will be acquitted and vindicated when the truth is told. (mjjsource.com via Reuters - Handout)

1. This will no doubt trump the coverage of the Eric Rudolph trial
at least for this news cycle.

2. If it walks like a duck,
If he talks like a pedophile ("There is no harm in sharing your bed with children." Michael Jackson quote.), acts like a pedophile (45 year old man who invites small boys to his bed.) and looks like a pedophile (invites children to his house to play). He is a pedophile.

3. What you said is just not cool.

If it walks like a duck... uh you have heard of trials before? Evidence, perhaps? Beyond reasonable doubt?

Deciding someone's guilty because he looks guilty and because you'd like him to be guilty isn't the American way here. At all. Though, I understand people do it all the time.

I feel like we're back to the Greeks and voting on who to exile from human civilization based on PR campaigns.

6. I said he was a pedophile, I didn't say he was guilty.

8. Being a pedophile implies guilt of child molestation.
You seem to believe the court of public opinion is more important than a court of law.

I'll wait for the jury's verdict, thanks.

10. I disagree, being a pedophile does not imply guilt of molestation.
It just means he finds children more sexually attractive than he finds adults.

12. When did Michael ever say this?
Michael sang about women in his songs. He never said that he finds boys sexually attractive. He said it's okay to have boys in his bed.

Now, I don't think that's cool, but I don't think it's evidence of pedophilia, either.

I just don't see how people sitting far away, who have no personal involvement in the case get off talking about people as if they know the God's honest truth.

We have courts for this kind of thing, give me a break.

14. Sorry, but by his actions he shows he likes children.
He could be in therapy for it, he could be taking drugs for it. He could understand his inclinations and act to prevent them from coming out in destructive ways. I don't know the man, only by his actions can I clearly see a design.

I never stated he explicitly said he found children sexually attractive but his actions speak louder than words.

I'll allow the courts to determine if he's guilty but the man displays all the characteristics of a pedophile.

5. I thought only freepers...
believed that if the thugs in blue said you were guilty that you automatically were. We have a thing in this country called innocent until proven guilty. No one has presented any evidence that shows his guilt. So far, it's just a witch-hunt. I'm not saying that something won't come-out, but nothing has so far.

4. Micheal Jackson is right, he deserves a fair trail, the media is wrong
in reporting on it until the trial is complete, I hope we hold the principles of justice more important then the strangeness of one man in our judicial system. I for one would not like to be him since our system is out all it says it is, it is not always fair or just. I pray that justice be done for all parties concerned and if Micheal is innocent he deserves justice against those who have accused him.

7. Just because he IS a pedophile does not mean I find him guilty of molesting
Edited on Sun Jan-30-05 02:10 PM by fasttense
that boy. There is no doubt he is a pedophile. If he is guilty of whatever the charges are is for the court to determine. But I'm sorry the man is clearly a pedophile, no two ways about it.

11. The man likes children. If in my opinion he is a pedophile,
But he could still be innocent of the charges brought against him. Think about it. You will see.

13. Refer to my earlier post.
When you prove that Michael Jackson prefers boys to women, get back to me.

He has been married twice, and while there is likely evidence to imply that he may have tried to seduce boys, I don't know that he is a pedophile to the exclusion of women. And you don't either.

It's truly disturbing that people watch celebrity media and think they know everything about people.

Celebrity media is garbage, I can't believe I am getting sucked into this thread.

15. I don't have to prove anything.
I have a right to my opinion as do you. But I still maintain he is a pedophile, and could be innocent of the charges.

Just because a man beats his wife everyday, and his wife turns up dead, does not mean that man killed her.

It is just so easy to get people stirred up over defending Michael Jackson. I just don't see the appeal of the man.

But hey he deserves a fair trial even if I think he has serious problems.
