4. Well, since it is on faux news ..... it has to be true.
Come on if we can't trust faux who can we trust? I only watch faux long
enough to see what color "Porn star lip gloss," the news Barbies are wearing.

9. 57% of the 13 million registered voters...
but they were "preliminary" numbers.

I think it was just 57% of Iyad Allawi who voted. The other 43% will be removed by a suicide bomber sometime in the next few days.

..... caught or killed. Fox is just a paid p.r. firm for bush & company.
Lies do not bother them.

...they also caught the guy responsible for 75% of the bombings. All these bombs going off recently are part of the other 25%.

19. Of course they don't know
The Americans are holed up in their bunkers while Iraqis have "elections" and things randomly blow up.

Fox News projects that the winner of today's historic and glorious Iraqi elections is ... George W. Bush!

17. Bush is the winner to many as these elections are viewed as a success
The smirks/bragging/gloating about Freedom will be nauseating as the day progresses. It is a huge notch in Bush's gun--have no doubt that!!

16. No way - pure BS
Turnout abroad is 60% or so. But only 10% of the eligable have registered.

Saw a report from Brent Sadler (sp) in Yemen where close to 60% of registered voters have voted during the last 3 days. But only 16,000 have registered out of 250,000 eligable.

There is no way for Fox to know hte voter turnout in Iraq since no exit polls are available.

IMHO the final turnout will be 20% or so.

18. Has nothing to do turnout/deaths--The fact that the election took place
IS the success. That is the point.

22. *But*
Remember when everybody was so excited about the transfer of sovergnity? Many mentally equated that with the return of our soldiers and an end to the bloodshed. Gradually (with the help of the MSM), it sunk in:

Nothing had changed. Except things were actually getting worse.

The "election" is a repeat of this. Another benchmark that means zip. At the very best, it is the beginning of our "cut-and-run" stage of Nation Building Bush-Style, where (as in Afghanistan) we rapidly slip away and try to maintain some pretense that most of the country hasn't reverted right back to where it was when we started bombing everyone.

So many polling places are totally deserted...Faux must be counting pre-marked ballots which were airlifted into the Green Zone.

Even Saddam ran better phoney elections than this!

38. We will NEVER know and it won't matter. Bush* wins the PR battle again.
I'll give it to them, this tactic of low expectations is utterly fucking amazing, you think we'd catch on by now. Kerry said yesterday that they knew they were gonna have a strong turnout therefore they encouraged all the 'low voter turnout talk' so when the numbers come in everybody (especially the press) is ga-ga.

35. Why of course they did.
72% of the 14% who registered in the 48% of Iraq where it is considered safe enough to have polls made it to support somoneone they know nothing about.

The election will likely be decided by votes outside the country, and we all know how well that works out.

Of the votes collected from outside the United States in 2000 and 2004, most supported chimp. Suprise suprise.
