News agencies reporting on themselves is not journalism

I have been watching an on going story regarding Allan Chernoffs mother on CNN. Chernoff is a "reporter" for CNN and his mother is an Auschwitz survivor. Though what happened to Allan Chernoffs mother at Auschwitz is horrific it is not journalism. Journalist are supposed to be objective and impartial in their reporting. Reporters reporting on themselves is nothing more than blatant self promotion and should be recognized as such. This sort of "news" has no place in any reputable news agency. CNN has proven itself time and time again not be a reliable news source.

It just puts everything in perspective.

Personally I wish there would be a little bit more reporting on news personalities, and where their interests really lie. But I suspect the answers would just depress me.
