Christie Todd Whitman is on lots of shows lately!
I understand she is promoting her book, but she has made some good statements. I know lots of you hate her just because she's a Pub, but she at least seems to be a thinking one. She's asking for her party back, and that's a good thing. There has always bee oppisition between the Pubs & the Dems, and that's a good thing too. There hasn't always been such hatred and desire to kill the other party like there is now.

I hope she gets through to a lot of the real Pubs...soon.

1. "It's my party too"
Is the name of her new book.

She says the party has swung so far right, it's barely recognizable.
"They're worried about Spoungebob Squarepants and not about Medicare, Healthcare, and other important issues".

I'm telling you...

I've been saying this for awhile, now that they got it all, they are going to push it all over the cliff of their batshit crazy fundamentalism.

This is the beginning of the end for these fuckers.

And we need to do is to pray for it to happen quickly.

This is the death knell for all of them.

2. I think so too. The fundies are sinking theyselves! GREAT!!!!
I rarely listen to Neil Boortz, and haven't for many months, but I remember him saying that he was afraid that now the Pubs have total control, they will over-reach like they always do, and will get slammed down in the dirt, only to have to take many years to come back again.

I can't remember when this was, but I sure hope he's right! It sure seems like the direction Shrub is going.

Don't you just love to watch the infighting...from a distance!

nature that compels them to do so. Nothing is ever enough for rwingers whether it's money, food, power, or guns.

Their over-reaching is a substitute for sexual inadequacy. You've seen the type. ;-)

4. She headed the EPA when it issued phony air quality reports post 9/11
Every time I see her, I think of those bullshit reports.

5. She also defended the shrub
the last time she was "The Daily Show." From that I deduce she's trying to raise her own political capital more than talking from the heart.

6. She just made it as second- worst governor...
in a local poll here.

She beat the most hated governor (at the time) by only a few thousand votes, and then when she ran for reelection, she beat an unknown by only a few thousand votes. Very low numbers for a Joisey election.

Having said that, I didn't think she was all that bad. She ran up the state's debt, in true Republican "fiscal conservative" fashion, but otherwise did more or less OK. She's a typical moderate Joisey Republican, like Keane, and we could use more of them. If we have to have priviledged Republicans around, they should be Rockefeller Republicans, not Bush/Frist Republicans.

I discount what happened at the EPA because she was under orders. The first week on the job she was shot down on the asbestos thing, and was read the riot act. As Governor, she wasn't half bad for the environment. Not all that good, but not half bad.

Her spiel is for getting the party out of the hands of the zealots, which would be a good thing, but she's been careful not to slam Shrub, which I find mildly disturbing. Maybe it's something about not naming names and pointing fingers, which the moderates don't like to do all that much.

8. Liberal Republicans
When they support liberal values, like the environment, abortion, gay rights, etc.; they need to be called liberal. Make them choose betwen nutball fundies and liberalism.

7. Nothing Worse Than A Woman Scorned
From being a "rising star" in the GOOP...a new generation, she's now on the outside looking out in her corrupt party. Her experience at the EPA in Washington was a nightmare...having to be a small fish in a big pond and then not really having any authority at all. Her department's budget was slashed, her recommendations were ignored and she finally got fed up and quit.

I can't imagine she's that big of a supporter of this regime anymore, but has to sleep in the bed she made. She has three strikes against her in the GOOP tent...she's pro-choice, she's from the Northeast and she's a woman. Her future in today's GOOP is a very lonely one.

She's about as popular with Repugnicans as Joe Lieberman is with many Democrats. Hope her book does well since she's gonna need to bank that money...or find a new job, since her political career is all but done.

9. In a land far, far away,
I heard Whitman give an address and thought, yikes! there's a Repub threat. She was poised, sure and cocky. She appeared 'Regal.'

The Bushbots cashed in on her appeal, chewed her up and spit her out. She's all used up now.

Her chances of changing what she helped to create are about slim to none. Bet she won't talk about the rigged voting machines. If she's getting face time, bet it's all about selling books ...
