17. I was a enlisted man...
and am a Democrat. A Democrat former military man is obviously a communist sympathizer.
I was also young and irresponsible; which means that (as a Democrat) I am not worthy of life, much less public office. Of course, I could run as a Republican... which would make me a great patriot and everyone would have to ignore my blemishes except the conspiracy theorists that make up almost 1/2 the population.

35. I used to joke about how I'd run as an ultra-conservative Repub
And then on my first day in office, I'd sign an executive order:

(1) Abolishing the death penalty.
(2) Legalizing marijuana.
(3) Giving gay couples the federal benefits of marriage.

Then I'd try to appoint Michael Moore or George Soros to the Supreme Court. And then I'd sit back and laugh my ass off after they impeach me and try to clean up the mess I created.

52. I don't have the legal background
to run. I know almost anyone can run regardless of their background, but I personally feel that you need to be far better acquainted with the legal system if you are planning on being in the top leadership of our country. The asshole is a perfect example why we don't have more people with their degrees in business administration in the wh.

Also, I'm poor, I'm a woman, I am partially disabled, and I'm not a size 2 or 4. As well, I've suffered depression both now and in the past, and as we know, "mental disorders" make it hard to become president. </intense sarcasm>

If I could rule the world anonymously, though, I find that fantasy fulfilling. As long as no one knew, I could make significant progress in changing the lives of most everyone on the planet.

54. I have the wrong profile
I would be an outstanding president... no shit.

However i've smoked and inhaled good weed, even bought extra and sold
some to get some extra money in college.

I've also done LSD and sold the extra bits i was not gonna use, not
really as a dealer, but just to friends... it happens when you buy 100
hits and then realize how MANY that is.! :-)

All that was decades ago.... but america is so programmed against the
drugs war, that i'd be stigmatized and theres little point.

As well, i'm a buddhist. I'm not married to an american, and i've
lived abroad for 20% of my life... too long for a president.

And finally, i've written some 6000+ posts on DU, and this would be
used to destroy any reputation, as posts would be misquoted and reframed
to brand me a traitor and whatnot... when in fact i am loyal opposition.

So, as i've become a writer, better to write, that we all play our part
and perhaps its not the dharma for me to be president. I am a
behind-the-scenes advisor par excellence... and have done exactly
this job in global finance. I prefer not being in the limelight
and just using ideas and plans, rather than face-selling an image.

So as i'm not running, i am free to challenge contentious propaganda
and to help set the ground for the demise of the nazi-brownshirts.
As a writer, my heros are karl marx, Blair (orwell), and Plato.
They each have changed the world more than any president.

Spiritually my heros are Rama, Gangaji, Adida, Sathya Sai baba,
Ramana Maharshi, Namkha Drimed Rimpoche, Mahamuni Babaji and Shankara.
All of them have changed the world more than any president.

There are many paths to power.. .perhaps best just to follow the
dharma and it will light the way.
