3. A little late..
So, why are Boxer and Dayton suddenly getting cojones and speaking out now, when it's too little too late?

Kindasleezy is going to be handily confirmed, no matter what the Dems do or say.

Not that I'm saying they shouldn't speak out.. of course they should.

It's just that ALL the Dems should have been speaking out that way from the beginning.

And, for Condi, lying seems to be easy.

She really doesn't have any integrity to impugn.

5. I agree but
better late than never. I think this debate might signal the beginning of a new tougher stance by Democrats. At least, I hope so.

7. Agree, & that won't be hard to do since they are doing the right thing.
It's hard to argue against common sense. :)

12. Dems are finally figuring out how to create photo opportunities.
Rice screwed up bad on 9/11 and wasn't much help with Iraq either. Yet, there's no photo op of anyone taking her to the woodshed, just as there would be if a white male had done such a bad job. Better the Dems pointing out her enormous flaws, than the right-wing use her because they think that Dems are afraid to criticize her because she's black.

6. and when Clinton was president and the republicans gave him
trouble about his appointments, you approved?

This battle is not worth fighting EXCEPT to point out, as Dayton and Boxer are, that the Bush admin and all its minions are morally bankrupt.

Act, don't react.

8. I agree
"Act, don't react" Dems need to set an agenda, make substantive proposals. For some reason they seem content to let the Rethugs go first and then criticize. It hasn't worked to well so far... Time for a change in tactics.

That said, they should also take every opportunity to hold their feet to the fire and expose their lies to the American public. Kindasleazy needs to grow a healthy respect for the opposition. Until now she's had no reason to.

11. Never rush to judgement until you have the facts.
Especially when dealing with crooks like these Repugs.

You never know what they will dredge out from under a rock.

13. I can't argue against the need for prudence.
but I do feel Dems need to promote an agenda. They shouldn't be a rubber stamp as they became in the last Congress.

I do agree on the need to have the facts but Dem's can't live in fear of what rethugs might pull. Once their ducks are in a row, Dems need to play hard ball. They might not win every fight but rethugs in Congress and the WH should realize they've been in one. It changes the whole dynamic of discourse.

14. Absolutely there should be an agenda/strategy.
And there is no reason that a response should take more than a day or two depending on the situation. At least respond with something that includes what the Democrats are about. And leave an opening wide enough to come back and be able to attack if necessary.

9. I will consider any Republican or Democrat
who votes to confirm Condi a traitor to the country. After hearing Robert Byrd especially. I hope he lives to be 150 years old and still in Congress.
