Brian Williams who is replacing Tom Brokaw advocates for Rush Limbaugh!
Can I just poke my eyes out with a fork now?!?!?!?!

I should be shocked that such a blatant partisan has been put in as the mouthpiece for NBC... but I think after the last year my shock meter is broke.

read on....

---------------------------------------------------

Brian Williams, who replaced Tom Brokaw as anchor and managing editor of NBC's Nightly News on December 2, 2004, said in an interview with C-SPAN founder, president, and CEO Brian Lamb: "it's my duty to listen to Rush" Limbaugh and that "Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due."

From the December 26, 2004, interview:

WILLIAMS: I do listen to Rush. I listen to it from a radio in my office, or depending on my day, if I'm in the car, I will listen to Rush. And he will tell you I've been listening for years. I think it's my duty to listen to Rush. I think Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due, because his audience for so many years felt they were in the wilderness of this country. No one was talking to them.

2. Gee. And we thought Brokaw was bad.
Maybe we need to force Brian Williams into retirement.

3. He listens to him...
That's not the same. The thing with the journalism field is that you must be aware of what everyone is doing... left, right and center. (At least that's what my journalism professor told me.)

5. no...what williams say and I quote
...and that "Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due"

that means he feels that rush deserves more credit for what he has done and is doing.

12. Thanks! I was just going to point
that out to the poster.

Shouldn't oxy-rush be in jail? Isn't that one little point that went right over brain-dead's head?

What, they owe him time off his sentence for good behavior?

7. It sounds like he is doing more than "being aware"
I doubt he balances it out with listening to Democracy Now everyday.

11. uh, yeah....... whatever you say.
Awareness is different than 'brainwashing'. Those w/ weak psyches will succumb to Rush tripe.... those w/ a few brain cells to rub together will not even give him the time - instead they will read the highlights.

How susceptible is this 'talking head'?

4. Nothing new here!
I remember him starting out a report a few years back with something like, "Rush Limbaugh said today he was so angry he didn't want to report to work!"

BAD NEWS but I didn't know it was this BAD!

he always hawks for bush..and now rush, too! Please tell me this nightmare will be over SomeDay?!?

Maybe if his ratings go down?..Who is going to replace Dan Rather?

I don't think we'd hear Dan or even Peter spouting stupid inanities like this.

13. While I usually don't have the opportunity, I too think I shd listen to it
Just to see what their spin is. Brian Williams so far seems to me to be pretty fact-based and impartial. If he listens to rush I commend him for his stamina.

I admit to being rather half-assed in evaluating him, although I was encouraged by some of his reports early on.

19. His Most Telling Statement
I think it's my duty to listen to Rush. I think Rush has actually yet to get the credit he is due, because his audience for so many years felt they were in the wilderness of this country. No one was talking to them

I would tell Brian that the reason Rush's audience was in the wilderness for so long is because the last go around the world had with Fascism left a mighty bad taste in peoples mouths. Opposing points of view are not equal. Some are truly evil and should be labeled as such.
