FSTV today: Cover-up-Behind the Iran/Contra Affair

Going to show a couple more times throughout the day. A lot of things I didn't realize from this.
- FEMA was altered from its original purpose of disaster relief to include rounding up citizens, including dissident citizens, during times of crisis.
- A specific plan of shadow government was created during this time to allow suspension of the US Constitution. When Jack Brooks (D-Tex) tried to ask about this during the Congressional Hearings, the Chairman of the Committee wouldn't allow the testimony.
-During the time of Iran/Contra a lot of people believed, like now, that there was no responsibility or accountability,and that if the Congressional Hearings had gone any farther, it would have impeached some in the White House (thus it was a coverup.
-There was one segment in which it was shown that money from outside the country in PACS was sent to deliberately get Dems out of office who did not agree with this right-wing agenda-and were successful.

I have tended to think of this Bush administration as being particularly heinous and out of the norm, but in the context of the past actions, it is really just more of the same.
