MoveOn....a viable third party?? The idea is out there
go to mydd.com and read the diary from JollyBuddah

"A plug for Greg Dewar at Schadelman.com (Click on the front page link to Schadelman.com) Greg will be adding his comments on the event later tonight or tomorrow afternoon. Greg and I had some good conversations, and I think he will have some interesting insights. (How's that for subtle pressure?)

In particular, he had an interesting analysis about Move On being able to pull together the structure and fund raising to actually form a viable third party. Chris and Jerome are probably more informed on this than I am, but that was a possibility I had not considered."

2. I do think they could create a third party
bigger than the Greens...but I still don't think they would have enough members to be effective outside of places like San Fransisco. To many people have voted Dem for too long and are unwilling to put in the time to investigate a new party. I do love MoveOn though, don't get me wrong.

3. Yeah
We've had the same two parties from the beginning, after all. A third party has never, ever, ever worked. :eyes:

5. Oh..and they don't now?
Those that now call themselves Democrats yet vote for the Republican agenda are the problem ..not the solution. If Democrats will not stand up and speak out against the rape and pillage of the earth that is happening, for fear of losing their jobs then what good are they? I won't hesitate to vote third party from now on because I no longer believe in the system. It is rigged and the only way to un-rig it is to throw in a monkey wrench as in viable third party. At least I won't feel so betrayed if my guy loses.

4. actually 4 parties would be better
because the two parties don't represent the views of the majority of the people. We could have the liberal, the progressive, repug, and the freaks.More issues would get to see the light of day money would be split 4 ways, more choices is always better.
