One of the head Funders of the Right has Paranoia
Edited on Fri Jan-21-05 06:04 PM by ck4829
Richard Mellon Scaife, one of the most powerful bankrollers of the Right Wing, suffers from paranoia and possibly other mental disorders.

Karen Rothmyer of The Nation reported that a long-time family acquaintance described Scaife as “the kind of person who looks under his bed every night before he goes to sleep.” He told a reporter that his dog had died “under mysterious circumstances.”

Scaife told John F. Kennedy, Jr. that “there must be 60 people who have died mysteriously” within the Clinton administration. Scaife even believes Clinton has “done away with” Ron Brown. Sources close to Scaife say he also believes that Clinton is conspiring to create a crisis that will enable him to stay in the White House beyond his second term by allowing federal computer systems to succumb to Y2K problems.

Scaife’s three foundations have for years supported The Heritage Foundation, Paul Weyrich’s Free Congress Foundation, and other right-wing organizations whose writings and web-sites reflect the views of Focus on the Family and the Christian Coalition. In fact, Scaife, along with Alfred Coors in the early seventies, provided the seed money that started many of the conservative think tanks and media watchdogs that influence the press and public policy today.

1. The scary thing is, he doesn't stand out that much among all the others!
And his mental problems haven't blunted his influence one bit. There were plenty on the Right who were eager to take his paranoid fantasies and run with them.

3. I have actually read things defending him
When Steve Kangas ended up dead in his building, some of his lackeys came out defending him, saying it was some kind of vast left wing conspiracy out to get Scaife.

2. Only One?
Seriously, I am glad Scaife is suffering in his own personal hell.

Unfortunately, he is taking it out on the rest of us poor bastards who don't have the money to act out our neurosis on a global scale.

4. It is a screwed-up world. If I could act out my neuroses on a global
scale, I think the world might actually be better off. (But don't we all think that?)

6. I think his paranoia is simply a reflection of his own evilness.
He is evil-hearted/minded and he must be paranoid to survive with that inner evilness.

some sort or another? They run the full gamut of psychiatric DX's from severe neurotic repression to full blown paranoid schizophrenia. I am including the "POTUS hisself" and moving on down right thru all his minions, from the highest to the lowest, male and female, youngest to the oldest.
They are all in dire need of long term treatment, medication, and in some cases, probably, institutionalization.

8. This article is 6 years old
Just sayin'.

But as someone who once lived in Pittsburgh, Scaife is - in fact - an asshole.
