Yeah, I'm sure that's why the cop pulled out his pepper spray... "Look, they're using their right to free speech! Get the spray Bob!"

I'm sure the officers needed to control an out of control situation, is all.

I'm a police dispatcher and I think it's infuriating to see someone who has NO IDEA what police officers go through on a day to day basis start bashing officers by using an out of context picture and slapping a rediculous message to it.

I know I'm new here, but I'm not new to being an anti-republican Bush hater. I am a Marine Corps veteran who is about as anti-conservative as you can get (while still maintaining a reasonable amount of sanity).

I take law enforcement issues very seriously and above all, I can't stand blanket, out of context statements, "backed up" by pictures that can be looked at many different ways. I consider that to be a very Republican tactic, and I spoke out against it.

I intend to spend my time here, amongst fellow anti-conservative anti-Republicans, and I will contribute as best I can.... however, I will speak out against something I feel is absolutely rediculous, like this thread.

So, I hear about this great community of DU for a long time now... years even. I decide to register and start lookin' around because I belong to a lot of veteran's groups and police officer groups and I'm sick of being the "liberal wacko" in the group. Thought it would be nice to come to a place where people felt the same way I did.

Well, maybe I'm not as liberal as needed to be here. Sorry, I don't automatically assume police are brutally out of control because they're using some sort of force to keep the peace. You obviously do. And from browsing around, it seems the majority of people here do, too.

I don't go correcting stupid spelling mistakes in the title of a reply, and prefer to not be around those who do.

Wonder if I set some sort of record for the shortest stay at DU by someone who is actually a hard corps anti-conservative level headed non-republican.

Anyways, sorry for messing up your thread, but I really don't think I want to be a part of this community, now that I see what you guys are truely about.

There are people who appreciate the job that the police do to help keep us safe. People seem to forget that there are good and bad people in every job, and every group. They equate the history of law enforcement with the present, and assume that all cops are bad. If they need help from one, they conveniently forget their assumption. Don't leave just because of a few people with different views than you, there are more people who think like yourself than you think, but they aren't as loud sometimes! :)
