Andy Rooney gets Da Ali G Experience/Videe
http://www.crooksandliars.com/2005/01/15.html#a1339 has the video
Ali G gets some grammar tips from 60 Minutes pundit Andy Rooney.
Is this the true behaviour of this pundit? Heads rolled after the interview, that's for sure

10. He interviewed Bhoutros, Boutros Ghali, Christie Todd Whitman
and James Baker. Baker acted like an ass. It was too funny!

2. Did you hear about how he almost caused a riot at a rodeo?
It's hilarious -- check it out:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6821600/

LONDON - British comedian Sasha Baron Cohen escaped a near-riot at an American rodeo while filming his satirical “Da Ali G Show.”

According to a report in the Roanoke (Virginia) Times, a man who was introduced as Boraq Sagdiyev from Kazakhstan — in reality a Cohen character named Borat — appeared at the rodeo over the weekend after organizers agreed to have him sing the national anthem.

After telling the crowd he supported America’s war on terrorism, he said, “I hope you kill every man, woman and child in Iraq, down to the lizards ... And may George W. Bush drink the blood of every man, woman and child in Iraq.” He then sang a garbled version of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

3. no one at 60 minutes has heard of Ali G?
That is so funny... at least Rooney handled himself better than the repugs he went after.. was honestly pissed instead of creepy smile.

5. Andy's not into pop culture, I guess
hard to believe that anyone associated with the media is still unaware enough to be taken in by "Ali G." But, if i didn't know who he was, I might react like Rooney did. I wouldn't correct his grammar, but I'd probably say I didn't have time for nonsense like that and cut the "interview" short.

9. It's all a big act
he gets interviews by saying he's doing British Educational Shows. Also does Bruno thegay fashionista and Borat, the Khazistan immigrant.
One of his older shows is on HBO tonight at 10:30pm channel 245. It's
about his trip to Phily Police dept.

13. how can you blame andy rooney for that reaction?
ali g's whole shtick with these interviews is to irritate and embarrass unwitting subjects. people react differently, sometimes with humor, sometimes playing along, but often with irritation and anger.

rooney's reaction was actually among the more mature, check out some of his other interviews.

ali g is hilarious, although i actually prefer cohen's other characters, bruno and borat, better.
