Limbaugh dumped for liberal show

BRATTLEBORO — A southern Vermont-based radio station will trade in the rhetoric of Rush Limbaugh and other conservative talk show hosts for the liberal commentary of Air America next week.

WKVT-AM 1490 in Brattleboro will replace four of its weekday syndicated conservative talk shows on Jan. 17 with programs from the fledgling liberal radio network Air America, which launched in March.

The station will be the second in Vermont to broadcast Air America programs, which include shows hosted by comedian Al Franken and actress Jeanne Garofalo.

The Brattleboro area is highly liberal in its political beliefs and the Air America shows will be a better fit for the station's listeners than the conservative programs hosted by Limbaugh and Bill O'Reilly, said WKVT program director Peter Case.

"We're calling this a right-to-left switch," he said. "For many years, our programming leaned to the right, but Brattleboro is a very liberal area and our lineup had to reflect that."

He and all his biddies were real positive that LW talk radio was doomed before it ever started! I'm thrilled every time I hear one of the RW shows (but especially his) is being displaced by LW talk!!!

I hope this is the beginning of reeling back the RW death grasp on talk radion across the country. We all need to thank Franken. There are quite a few other LW hosts that have been on in several parts of the Country, but the thing that seems to have brought the idea to the attention of the stations was AAR. GOOD LUCK to them!!

8. Al Franken on Hardball...

said that AAR was the #1 rated talk radio in their opening week in San Diego, which is a pretty conservative town. On the show he also said flat out that Rush is a lier.

13. We're not so conservative anymore.

AAR *did* go to number 1 here. We also have a Democratic write-in canidate that managed to take the majority of the votes after campaigning for only 5 WEEKS! There's still a "bubble" issue that we're fighting here, but I think in end, Donna Frye will be our Mayor.

9. I got sick of waiting for AAR in Tampa

So I blew all my Christmas wishes on a Sirius radio. Now I am hoping for a car adapter for Mother's Day!! But I have to say, I listen every day, and I can guarentee that I wouldn't have worn a new sweater or jeans everyday.\

I just love that AAR kicks butt everywhere it goes, don't you!
