A look back - Pat Robertson: "Impeach Clinton!"
"The Rev. Pat Robertson Friday demanded Congress impeach President Clinton, saying resignation is too good for a ''debauched, debased and defamed'' leader.

''While resignation might be easier for America, it's not best for America,'' Robertson told 3,000 members of the Christian Coalition attending a two-day conference of the nation's most active religious conservatives.

Four or five members of the crowd held up yellow signs that read, ''Impeach Clinton.''

Christian Coalition leaders have long called for Clinton's ouster, but the rhetoric was more timely and stronger than ever."

We should always listen to the Christian Coalition, you know why? (/sarcasm)

"The Christian Coalition and other rightwing religious groups supporting Reagan even had a “biblical checklist” by which they wanted all senators and congressmen to be judged. And one of the items in the “biblical checklist” was “support for the Afghan ‘freedom fighters.’ The rightwing Christians were saying in the 1980s that if you didn’t support al-Qaeda and its Mujahidin allies, you didn’t deserve to be in Congress!"

1. Fundies just don't understand politics.
The separation of church and state not only benefits the state from making stupid religious decisions, but it also benefits the church from make state decisions.

Damn!

2. Ah the I-RONY
Who was more tolerant of Christianity? The Al Qaeda and Mujahadeen, or the Soviets? The Soviets of the 1980's did not exactly welcome Christianity with open arms, but Christians were much more respected by the Soviets compared to the Al-Qaeda and Mujahadeen's treatment of them, to say nothing of their Nazi allies in Saudi Arabia.
