Randi Rhodes.....Kerry....had a Bad campaign

As far as I could tell, Kerry made two massive blunders:

First, he didn't sock Regenery Publishing and the Smear Boat guys with a libel suit the day that book came out. The point should have been to tie up their resources fighting the suit while gaining subpoena power to follow all the money and connections wherever they led, not to win the suit. Failure to do this allowed the Smear Boaters to keep up their campaign. Thinking a bully will go away if you ignore him doesn't work. Most of us learned by junior high school that you have to stand up to them to get them to fold.

Second, he didn't go with the message that Clinton dumped right into his lap, "THEIR WAY DOESN'T WORK!!" That should have been the central message of his campaign, and it would have resonated strongly with people who are afraid of losing their jobs to offshoring or corporate greed. Had he continued to hammer this message into the thick skulls out there, the election would not have been nearly that close.

Still, he ran a decent campaign. He was Gored by the press and defeated by massive electoral fraud.

7. She was saying some thing like the minute Kerry heard about what

was going in in Ohio he should have gone and investigated it. I don't remember her exact words, but that was the impression I got of what she said

3. While I like Randi Rhodes...

and agree that some things could have been done differently in the campaign, it's easy to be a Monday morning QB. I don't agree that it was a "bad" campaign. Maybe a bad campaign for non-thinking people.

Then again, I also believe there was massive election fraud, and nothing he did was going to change that.

I do hate to see another Kerry-bashing thread coming up, but....here it comes I see.

4. Yeah, he really shouldn't have won all 3 debates as decisively as he did.

Question for Randy: Do you think Bush would be in the White House if we had a normal media?

Would Kerry have run a "bad campaign" if we had any semblance of a normal media that did its job?

6. He did have a bad campaign he should have attacked.

And he should have had a coherent, non flip-flopping stand on Iraq. Anything you have to explain too much is a loser.
