Is it my imagination or have the rightwing websites gotten very boring?
I used to kind of scan through them for laughs once every few days (e.g. Newsmux, WorldNutDaily, AgapePress, etc.). Things kind of peaked around Election Day, when things had worked themselves into a frenzy. Ever since Election Day, or thereabouts, it seems like they have nothing interesting to say - no great rhetoric. BORING!

Meanwhile, I go to my DFA Club, and progressives seem to be making solid efforts at uniting, and promoting the causes we believe in. The local Rethuglican activities seem LIFELESS.

Maybe it is just my imagination. Lots of interesting discussions on this Board, and on other progressive sites, though. Daily Show has kept its sharp wit.

Comments? Agree or disagree?

2. They don't have anyone to piss and moan about.
They can't blame anyone except themselves for the shit they put themselves in and they're starting to figure it out.

17. if there is an upside to the stolen election, it's this one.
if it gets much worse, expect a mafia of Diebold techs to come forward and proclaim they were paid by Hilary to steal the election for Bush so she can run in 08.

Maybe I should be careful and not give Rove any ideas.

3. Because they are the establisment now
Right wing Internet sites and talk radio thrived when Democrats controlled Congress and the White House. They promulgated the notion that they were somehow part of an anti-establishment, underground resistance to the people in power. It was appealing to many conservatives. Now things have changed. It's not much fun cheering on the government all day.

5. Thanks for the replies.
My hubby keeps telling me (to cheer me up) that its more fun to be the resistence, and harass, than to 'cheer on the government.' LOL at the 'cheering on the government' crack. With respect to this administration, that would be a very difficult job.

7. One of my favorite sonds that seems really perfect for the time
and hell we are living through is "Minority" by Green Day.

i want to be the minority
i dont need your authority
down with the moral majority
'cause i want to be the minority

i pledge allegiance to the underworld
one nation under dog
there of which i stand alone
a face in the crowd
unsung, against the mold
without a doubt,
singled out
the only way i know

stepped out of the line
like a sheep runs from the herd
marching out of time
to my own beat now
the only way i know
one light, one mind
flashing in the dark
blinded by silence of a thousand broken hearts
"for cryin out loud" she screamed unto me
a free for all
fuck 'em all
"you are your own sight"

6. They're running low on Kool-Aid and are in the process of restocking
Give it another week or so, especially around the coronation of Little Boots.

Damn, I am sooooo hoping the weather lets all hell break loose that day in D.C.

10. Oh ... bad weather would be great.
Uh, we're not going to have to see Brit Hume smiling as the King celebrates, are we?

And what's this about him blaming his son's suicide on progressives?

9. Funny you should mention that.
I was so disheartened by the rhetoric on my familiar (primarily) repug board that I left it forever on the day after the election. Of course it is impossible to disengage "cold turkey" and so I periodically take a peek at what's going on over there. Interestingly, I'm not the only dem who has abandoned them. What was once a lively chat room is now quiet as a morgue. There are plenty of repugs, but they have nothing to say!

12. That's exactly what I mean, Kiraboo!
I came out of my house the other day grinning from ear to ear. My Rethuglican neighbor asked me what was up. She seemed grim. I told her I was going to have a fun meeting with my DFA friends. She just looked blank. I guess her Rethuglican meetings are too much fun anymore.

11. No external enemy!
Soon they'll be turning on their comrades, looking for those who aren't suficiently pure in their dogma.

13. I definitely agree that is going to happen, Warpy.
I think it already is. The Religious Right is already criticizing the Administration's behavior, and lack of respect for the foot soldiers. I think the fighting between the so-called 'moderates' and the fundie foot soldiers is going to heat up.

14. Boooooooooring
I'd agree with you. But watch out! When things get too exciting at the opposition sites it means that the opposition is getting used to being out of power.

This is the time for sorting things out and determining how to do better.

15. I post on a mixed board and
the freepers there are still posting, just not as much nor are there as many as there used to be. I can't stand free republic, but checked it out after last Thursday's events to see their reaction and it seemed eerily quiet. That was like maybe my 3rd time checking out that gawd awful hellhole, but I do remember it being much nastier and just overflowing with hate. Makes you wonder just what the hell they are all up to right now...

...Now that's a scary thought! :scared:

16. Oh, Goodness, I hope they are not up to something...
but with those guys, you always know something is up.

I don't think they have run out of gas just yet.

Things are getting boring. Either they will accept that or they will create a crisis.
