<snip>Williams also hosts a radio show and appears regularly on CNN as a commentator. CNN said it would evaluate the situation, pointing out that Williams has no formal contract with the network.

"We will consider very seriously this issue before booking him as a guest again," said CNN spokeswoman Megan Mahoney.

2. Big fat DUH!!! They MAY consider it!!??? What hypocrites!!!
What kind of credibility could this guy have now...or do they even care about that...? Guess the truth is that none of their commentators have that much credibility anyway.

3. Another jive talking con man bites the dust. Would that the same thing
happened to Rush, Hannity, Hume, Paula and numerous other paid propagandists.

5. I think if CNN takes him off, it will
be because they don't want to remind the public that the Bushies bribe people to do their bidding. I figure after Williams' initial apologies, we won't hear from him again.

denied an Equal Opportunity to defraud the system while Rush and Hannity and Bill O'Reilly take home the loot!

8. After hearing a news guy from CNN yesterday
Edited on Sat Jan-08-05 04:26 PM by OKNancy
on NPR, I'm pretty sure he won't be on. He called him a whore three times and then said it was whoring to do such a thing. I about ran off the road.

Edit: It was Schoenfeld, not the new guy.

10. Hopefully, CNN will also have less of Robert Novak,
now that "Crossfire" has been cancelled.

11. Prediction:
With all the things those repugs have done to this country, too numerous to list here, this issue will be the beginning of the end of the Chimp administration.

I can hardly wait.

12. strongly recommend that Armstrong Williams (and others like him, i.e.Novak
and Tucker Carlson) read Boethius'The Consolation of Philosphy.

"'Happy is that death which thrusts not itself upon men in their pleasant years, yet comes to them at the oft-repeated cry of their sorrow. Sad is it how death turns away from the unhappy with so deaf an ear, and will not close, cruel, the eyes that weep. Ill is it to trust to

Fortune's fickle bounty, and while yet she smiled upon me, the hour of gloom had well-nigh overwhelmed my head. Now has the cloud put off its alluring face, wherefore without scruple my life drags out its wearying delays.

'Why, O my friends, did ye so often puff me up, telling me that I was fortunate? For he that is fallen low did never firmly stand.' "

13. CNN would lose all credibility if they continued to
have Williams on, but then as of late CNN along with other cable news networks hasn't had much credibility to begin with so who knows.

14. remedials in the education department
The Education Department defended its decision as a "permissible use of taxpayer funds under legal government contracting procedures." The point was to help parents, particularly in poor and minority communities, understand the benefits of the law, the department said.

Then why didn't the Education Department use the money to establish a coordinated group of speakers to work with churches, pta groups, etc. to go out and directly speak with them, in person, armed with marketing collateral, brochures and dvd's for the parents to take with them and watch in the convenience of their homes? Why not schedule Q&A sessions at the church when service was over for those parents who were interested in learning more?

No, what they did was blatantly illegal and they believed themselves to be above the law and justified in using the methods which they chose to use.
