TSUNAMI:
How could they do it?

IT seems almost impossible to believe.

Just days after the tsunamis, tourists were sunbathing on one of the hardest-hit beaches – Patong, where hundreds of people lost their lives.

In a scene that would seem extraordinary to many, the tragedy was already mere memory for some tourists as they worked on their tans.

Many were in bikinis, some lounged on sunbeds and others took a dip in the waters that had claimed so many lives a few days earlier.

1. Local businesses NEED these people there...

I guess it's kind of like how people can continue to do business only blocks away from the WTC. They're detached from the disaster, and as long as they don't interfere with the rescue/recovery efforts, the locals appreciate the money.

On edit: I should add that after the Bali bombing, a lot of the Aussies who lived in Bali begged Australians to go over there and spend their money. It's the only income they have.

2. My son will be going to Bangkok on
Tuesday for a couple of weeks and then in March will go to Phuket where he thinks the locals will have their businesses up and running as best they can..he wants to spend money to help them out.
