there is almost a hint of a smile creeping up on my face thinking about how superbush has been hit with a few kryptonite bullets lately.
regular bullets have been bouncing right off him for almost 2 years now, he seemed invulnerable, a man of steel, infallible, untouchable, churchillian, lincolnian,...(?)...but now look at him.

he's reeeeeeeeeal touchy and snippy with reporters lately, more-so than ever. like he's ready to explode. i think it's because he HATES BEING THE PRESIDENT. it's not what he thought it would be, he hates to be criticized or told no, he hates to think about anything complicated, and he'd rather be home hitting the bottle and eating pretzels on the ranch, or in kennebunkport, reeling in big fish caught for him by his own trained secret service anglers.

he actually looks like he could be defeated, without any brilliant strategy other than everybody's sick of looking at him, he's not up to the job, he's fucking things up diplomatically so bad it'll take decades to repair the damage, and he has real live republicans in high places thinking it's time for him to exit, stage right.

1. I hope you're right!
I've been thinking the same thing. Then again, I thought we'd win the '02 elections too. Lesson learned: never underestimate the voting power of stupid people. :)

7. The song remains the same
Now, as in 2002, the election is ours to lose. The opponent is a clueless bumbler who would be serving a life sentence in jail for his crimes were he not too incompetent to even stand trial. It takes no "kryptonite" to bring him down, merely a willingness to publicize the administration's atrocities. Unfortunately, too many Dems have gone along with those atrocities and are unwilling to criticize them, so predicatably we lost in 2002, because Dems weren't willing to stand up and offer an any alternative message to the administration's. Here's hoping we don't make the same mistake again in 2004.

8. I think the key is to continually anger him with questions he doesn't like
He seems to have a short fuse and when angered or annoyed he reveals the nasty person he really is!...If people like Terry Moran keep peppering him with unwanted questions, I think he will blow up publicly....Of course if the networks only show him taped they will cut out the nasty bits....The average American has been sold this "good old boy", everybody's friend image...I think that's why he's relatively high in the polls...I don't think the public is so enthralled with his performance as president, so much as they believe the myth that he is this caring individual who is working for them....

2. I haven't watched too much TV lately (getting ready to teach in fall),
but in some photos he doesn't look very happy at all. It's not surprising, given current circumstances.

3. You can try to make a winner out of a loser only for so long

instead of a winner, they got a whiner.

4. Do you think he'll pull an LBJ on us?
"I shall not seek, and I will not accept, the nomination of my party for another term as your president."

5. Maybe he's anticipating the 2004 debates.
The possibility that he'd have to debate Howard Dean must give him cold chills.

9. Some have speculated that he won't debate
Honestly, I'm not sure how he could get away with that, but I've read comments from others...

6. Just short of a breakdown with his finger on the trigger
If he shows up in public in a straitjacket it's time to take this thing seriously

10. Someone should mention
that he's so pathetic he needs to rely on disasters to keep afloat and his agenda away from the prying eyes of humans.

11. The Chimp will never pull an LBJ on us. If he does, Karl Rove will have
him shot. Then the VRWC will have him stuffed and propped up a la Jeremy Bentham, and run him that way. Shoot, it's not like shrubbie's campaign deportment will be much affected by his death and taxidermy. Glassy, unfocused look, tightly pursed lips, someone else's words emanating from the lectern. What would be the difference?

12. It was the cabin boys (sound of ball bearing clicking together)
Yes, he is looking a little more queegish these days. The seas are getting rough, war isn't going well, economy is in the drink. I haven't kept a list of all of chimpy's fuckups since he usurped the office, but I'm sure someone has, and I bethcha by next July either this fool is looking for a hole to hide in from the broadsides, or he's so damn stupid he's leaning on a podium at a klan rally.
That soft middle that voted for homey george is waking up, they're being caught in the middle, hell he may not make it to the election.
