My friend kind of inspired this question and another thread I started.
When I reminded my friend of tomorrow he kind of rolled his eyes and groaned...So what major story will the media will use to drown out this story?

Any thoughts...will it be the Tsunami? or will they(Media) say people are sooooooo tired of hearing about it they would want to hear about any other news so we got to find something to distract the viewers with...

Or will they say. The Tsunami will be good enough to distract viewers from both votes?

1. My friend
If a senator does stand up and contest certifying the election it will be history. No way that the MSM can ignore it. Only question now is will a senator contest and how will the MSM spin it.

2. bit it will be a small little flash piece
negitive tone and they will dismiss and move on. i stopped watching news before the debates, but what i am hearing from people on the board they have already told the story, wont change outcome of election. they have dismissed it before it has begun

rove tells a story and people believe. they have gotten good after four years. it take nothing and no time at all for them. they do it all the time

4. I don't know
I think the repugs will be so outraged they won't let the story die. All their little shithead reps and senators screamin' about the dems hijackin' democracy, we won this election blah, blah.. These repug fuckers are so drunk with power they will lash out in vengeance and keep the story alive.

3. you know, even if senators do join in the protest., it's a 2 minute story
people here are expecting so much they are all going to be crushed.

Here's the story, at it's best: President Bush was officially elected to a second term today. Congressman Conyers and several other Democratic members of congress put up a challenge to the electors from Ohio and were joined by several senators. The House and Senate then each voted to accept the electors as certified.

I hope that they all challenge, because I think it might help to jump start election reform, but it ain't gonna cause much of a stir.

8. Not me
I'm hoping one senator will join with Rep Conyers, et al. That's all. I believe it is possible, and if one does more will follow. This is a time when one, just one, courageous person can make a difference, and who cares what the MSM or the GOP slanders, smirks, or croaks??!! I don't think it will change the outcome, but I do believe it is important to make a stand and contest the certification of this election because of the many irregularities which Conyers has stated, and which, from what I've read of the wonderful research done here, all seem to favor bush for some strange reason. Also, Secretaries of State should not be on political campaign committees, nor should partisan parties be counting the votes, or supplying the machines to count the votes. I'm tired of those in the GOP always overstepping and especially of their attempt to either shut off or cheapen debate. Any party, the Dems, too, who commits fraud with the intent of delegitimizing one person's vote should be called on it, and sanctioned for it. I don't like feeling un-represented, or mis-represented. I want someone to speak up for me, and for you,...and you,... and you, etc. It just might be the start of some courage in Congress. That's what I'm hoping for...courage. Thanks to all you hardworking DUers!!You amaze me!!!

6. It can't end with the senators standing up - they have to have
loud voices and make the story theirs. They must explain clearly on MSM that they are trying to protect the voters, not overturn the election. Otherwise, they will just look foolish and seem like sore losers. Someone had better start the spin in the right (or should I say left) direction.
