DU HELP! I need The 800 number for...
The Capitol switchboard so I don't have to pay to call my senator.

1. Google is your friend.
You will get better information from doing a Google search YOURSELF, and QUICKER, than you will from asking random strangers on a message board who will just use Google to find it anyway.

Please try to remember this in the future.

13. Pretty good, still worried about Peak Oil.
But less so, now that it's above 50F in NJ year round.

:)

Missing your sig.

I figured someone would have that number out and available since everyone has been calling all day anyway.

Wow, I never thought another DUer would be so rude. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed there Spider?

6. I wasn't being rude; I was being helpful.
You wanted information I didn't have; I told you the easiest way to get it.

8. It seamed rude
"YOURSELF, and QUICKER, than you will from asking random strangers on a message board "

That seams rude to me. I am just saying I am not a fool, i know what Goolge is and how to use it, but these "random strangers" on this "message board" have always felt more like a community of good friends that help each other out no matter how big or in this case small the question is. I have helped people in the past to find things and I have never had a problem doing it. This is the first time I have ever had anyone act like this toward a question i have summited to the board. Maybe I am over sensitive, maybe you are right, I just wanted to state my peace.

9. Sorry...
I usually use italics for emphasis, but I was a lazy sod this time and didn't bother. Not yelling, or anything.

12. No, it was rude.
There are people, like my aunt, for instance, who aren't particularly net-savvy. What, specifically, are the Google search terms for this? "I want to call my representatives in Congress but I can't afford it" isn't going to dredge up a whole lot of results, now, is it? There's an art to using search engines, which not everyone is good at yet.

It seems to me that, if it's so easy to Google for something yourself, then shut up and just do it for the person who requested the info.

If you're too lazy to help out, then just stick to the shut up part, and people won't accuse you of rudeness.

(Yes, my response is rude, and intentionally so, to show you how unpleasant it is to be the recipient of rude remarks.)

14. Sounds like a lonely way to exist
Google is all inhuman and stuff. DUers are people. We like to help each other. Its kind of why we come together here.

10. 1 800 839 - 5276.
I also saw 1 877 762 - 8762 as another possibility. Haven't tried that one, though.
