So, in MS's honor, I will donate $2.88.

But wait a moment. I've paid for their software. Windows XP, Office Premium, and so on, while watching them incorporate new methods that do nothing but help hackers and hurt good people. (Reformat your machine too much and they won't allow the license to be re-used). I've paid him a shitload of money for overpriced, underperforming applications.

Therefore, I donated by proxy.

Just like I donate to PBS when I buy corporate sponsored products.

I will donate some of my own money for real, but corporations ARE America and they are paying tiddleywinks once you put things into total perspective.

I know amazon donated, but if I'm going to be asked to donate, I want to know how much they had and then pay an equally proportional amount, effectively matching their income/output to mine.
