5. Neo-conservatism

In my mind, it is a subset of corporatism, which includes many Democrats and Republicans. They represent the Machiavellian crowd, the guys who believe in the ends justifying the means. Leo Strauss' teachings generally are derived from Machiavelli, and he taught folks like Perle and Wolfowitz, if I remember correctly.

Wikipedia seems to have a pretty good run down. Paul Wolfowitz, Deputy Secretary of Defense and probably the chief architect of the invasion of Iraq, is the prototypical neocon.
