Byrd Pummels Bush on Iraq - Again
After his stirring speech before the senate this week, I figured Byrd would pretty much step aside and let others continue the attack. But look at what Byrd posted on another Dem site this morning:

http://www.democrats.us/editorial/byrd090603.shtml

"After a dismal summer of watching the situation in Iraq spiral from bad to worse, the White House appears to have finally acknowledged what many of us have understood from the beginning: it is going to take huge amounts of money, a long term commitment, and substantial help from the international community to restore order to Iraq."

<More>

I don't know when his term is up, but I really hope he doesn't retire. We need good guys like Byrd to keep us on the offensive. :)

1. This is funny ...
If you go to Google and type in: Bush Byrd Iraq , you'll get to see some of the best Byrd bashes against Bush. I still can't believe Byrd's zinger from his latest speech, as reported on CNN:

"As I watched the president's fighter jet swoop down onto the deck of the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, I could not help but contrast the reported simple dignity of President Lincoln at Gettysburg with the flamboyant showmanship of President Bush aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln," Byrd said.

Friggin' ouch! (Lol.)

2. Bryd is the conscience of the Democratic party...
...and one of the few defenders of the Constitution left in government. He still remembers that ONLY CONGRESS can declare war.
