I tried to use a gift certificate from my brother, the company ; Improvements, required a credit card # from me despite the value of the certificate covered taxes and shipping. Has anyone had this before? It's new to me.

3. maybe the "company" isn't doing as well as projected
soooo, the store needs a place to fall back upon to collect if the company credit card goes belly up. It's like a waiver of lein.

4. I've had Sharper Image and Target gift certificates and they cover
taxes and shipping. I would be very suspicious if the company wanted my credit card if the certificate covered the amount.

5. Maybe they just want to sell
the gift certificates. You are not expected to use them. No profit in that.

6. So far it's new, I thought so
I have done a lot of mail order and internet business, and this was a new one to me. I kept being asked for my credit card # or the sale would not be finished.Their server acknowledged my certificate, so I called, the supervisor was incredulas, yes they need my credit card #. I said you got to be kidding? No she said. It is a company that has been around for quite a while. www.improvementscataloge.com The BBB had other files on them also, as they were listed already .I just had to click on their file, and lodge my complaint.
