Having reflected, all day, on the exceptional dKos Diary "Folks Don't Get It" by shanikka, my resolve to see the 'national election of 2004' halted on 6 Jan 2005 transformed to "do or die."

I have sent the following message to several colleagues and want to share it with you so you can know what to expect and why we are corresponding with you now.

We are requesting that millions of our fellow citizens be in DC on 6 Jan 2005.

We will join, together on that day, with you and all responsible members of the HR and the Senate and together we will halt the fraudulent national election of 2004.

We will halt demonstrate, together, in the largest ever display of unity in support of our Constitution.

We will conclusively assert that "we the people" will not tolerate anything but a HALT to the farce, the brutal, systematic attack on our fellow citizens in their effort to "form a more perfect union" -- to vote and know their vote was recorded as they intended.

Together, we will forge a remedy to the situation that provides to each of our fellow citizens who are eligible to vote an equitable access to do just that -- vote. We will ensure that each voter has a mechanism to ensure that their vote is counted exactly as they intend it to be.

We will save our American franchise of democracy.

We will then vote, together, for the 44th President and Vice President of the USA and we will all know, beyond reasonable doubt, that whomever receives the most votes is the elected representative of our Nation.

We will bring joy and hope to all of humanity because of our actions between now and 6 Jan 2005, and every day thereafter.

We will never forget the peril to our Constitution, our freedom that we confronted together and resolved -- we will have lived and sacrificed in the honor of all whose ideals and sacrifices have graced each of us and for whom we now must prove our gratitude.

We will prevail.

It's exactly what they are. That's the mentality we've got to have -- anybody opposed to the recound is a pro-fraud theocrat, and that's all there is to it.

4. I'm sending the Shanika letter out

I have been saying this is a civil rights issue all along. Very few seem to be picking up on it.

I've sent this to John Kerry along with a copy of the Shanika letter:

I don't know if this will ever reach your eyes Mr. Kerry. I hope someone will see this is an important letter and put it in your hand. It is not important that I wrote it, but because of the email message from someone else that I have enclosed. In fact, I am determined you see this letter yourself and I will work to get this to you one way or another.

I had such hopes for our nation... that THIS TIME we had a hero who would be a LEADER. Someone who would go beyond political expediency and do the right thing; damn the political or personal price. It is a price I am willing to pay to live in a free country. Are you?

Many are lost in a morass of hopelessness. They feel deserted. I stayed in a dark hole for about two days after the election. Our grief at the loss of the election was so great that my husband and I could barely speak without crying.

Our disbelief at the loss of the election was just as great. When I had to tell my nine year old grandson that Bush had won the election his response was, “He must have cheated.” This young man had spent weeks studying polls, learning about electoral votes, and studying the electoral projections map.

Then we began to hear about what happened in Ohio. Voter disenfranchisement... and the response from the right? If people are too stupid to understand the simple process of voting then we don't want them making the decisions about who should run this country.

The essay I’ve enclosed translates that clearly.

This is a civil rights issue. IT affects EVERYONE. If some of the citizens in this country are not safe, then none of us are safe. EVERY assault we are taking from the right is a civil rights issue.

Without honest elections, all bets are off.

Please stand up. Don’t hold back. I know you are human and I don’t put you on a pedestal, but I believe that you have that trait of feeling instilled deeply to care for those who are in danger. To help when no one else will. You promised, Mr. Kerry, “Help is on the Way.” Let the time be now. Show us all that you are here not to just win an election.

Voter disenfranchisement IS Vote Fraud! By deceit and treachery, the rights of our citizens to vote have been stolen. Theft is a crime!

This is a civil rights issue. Please stand up now Mr. Kerry! Or all is lost. If YOU will stand up many more will follow.

5. Thank you and I suggest you fax it...

...to his MA office, as well as his DC office. I use fax for these messages and not their online webmail. It takes a bit more effort but nothing like seeing someone take the time to write something and sign it. No point in mailing it however, as mail flow to our government is way slower than 'snail'....
