I'm not underhandedly trying to bash Kucinich or anything.

I'm just honestly wondering if there's any logical reason for his supporters to think he's got a better shot at the nomination than Al Sharpton* does.

*no offense intended towards the Reverend either.

1. 1% in most polls
But hey, as long as people are still giving him their money, why not?

3. that's what I thought
so, when the margin of error is taken into account, he may actually be polling at less than zero.

just kidding…not looking to start a flame war with any DK supporters.

2. Kucinich performed well in the debate tonight and
got a fairly strong positive reaction from the audience. I'm not sure of his current polling numbers (not high as far as I know), but we're several months away from the first caucus and primary. If Kucinich can get his get his ideas out to enough people, there's a good chance his poll numbers and Iowa/New Hampshire performances will surprise people.

It's way too early to write him off. Not all that long ago, any number of people were willing to tell us Dean was unelectable; those people are a little more quiet now. Same goes for Kucinich.

If you're interested, you might want to check out his website at http://www.kucinich.us/. He's a pretty impressive guy.

7. Yes, he is, but let's not overlook his second place finish at MoveOn

which was unexpected by most people.

There's a Newsday poll in which Kucinich has received 49.8% of 9115 responses. I'm pretty sure you'll dismiss the results since you're intent upon dismissing Kucinich but here's the link:

http://www.newsday.com/news/nationworld/nation/ny-prez2004story,0,5467485.htmlstory?coll=ny-nationworld-nation-utility&vote8594962=1

Dennis has always run uphill races and and I believe he has a very real chance at the nomination if the elections are fair. Look up the data on how Clinton was polling at this point in his first race for the presidency, or how Carter was polling " " " " " " " " " " "

11.  you read polls and support the candidate with the highest %
Edited on Thu Sep-04-03 11:47 PM by roughsatori
I'm rather old fashioned, I plan to vote for Kucinich because he represents me more closely than any other candidate.

Who do you lean to at this time? And is it due to polling numbers?

18. I don't think that's the point at this time.
Don't forget that these polls also show that hardly anybody can name more than a couple of candidates yet.

Wait for a while and see how things go as there is more coverage, more ads, and people see more of them.

btw, Kucinich was pretty good on The Daily Show. Better than I expected.
