Yahoo Economic News (GRRRRRRR):
http://polls.yahoo.com/public/archives/57019568/p-quote-379

"Each dollar that a US company spends on outsourcing a service job to India ADVERTISEMENT generates an estimated 1.13 USD in net value for the US, according to a recent study in the current edition of the Milken Institute Review (reg. req'd). The study also estimated that India gains 0.33 USD in net value from local wages, profits earned by local outsourcing companies and their suppliers, and taxes collected from all the local companies involved in the operation."

This is complete BULL!!!!

Where are all the jobs then???

:wtf:?

3. So if we outsource the president
We'll get $1.13 return on the dollar for our $8 trillion national debt?

4. half the story - every dollar spent has multiplier effect - Does 1.13 mean
an increase over what the multiplier would have been if it had been spent in the US?

Hell no.

But do not expect our US Media to be able to do context.

5. funny that "ADVERTISEMENT" appears in the middle of the text
most news articles on globalization are sales pitches for the globalizers.

Check out David Brooks's column today, boilerplate pro-trade crap, this time ostensibly about some bullshit World Bank report which -- guess what! -- says everything is fine and dandy thanks to unfettered free trade!
