US trying to curtail power of International Criminal Court
This is just a little blurb in my paper today. No source given, but I suspect it's from AP or Reuters.

"Congress has stepped up its campaign to curtail the power of the International Criminal Court, threatening to cut economic aid to governments that refuse to sign immunity accords shielding US personnel from being surrendered to the tribunal.

The move marks an escalation in the US efforts to ensure that the first world criminal court can never judge American citizens for crimes committed overseas."

They should call it the "Saving our sorry asses campaign."

WHAT THEY SOW, SO SHALL THEY REAP.

2. Corporate puppet masters had Congress change laws in the US
to make it legal for them to do what they want and to make it illegal for us to do what they don't want us to do. Now they want to do it on the international front. Typical of 'win at any cost' types, change the rules to own advantage any time someone else makes progress or thwarts their progress

4. No one likes a bully
there will be a lot of people around the world that will cheer when our country goes down in economic ruin. The only thing I really fear is that Bush will use nuclear strikes or the threat of same to get his way if this happens. I don't put anything past him, and the media will tout it as something that had to be done. I predict that sometime in the future Bush and all Americans will answer to this international court, threats or not....and if Bush gets by with avoiding this court, there's another Court with Higher authority that he cannot escape.

6. That's right! His karma will get him
so even if man's laws fail to get justice against him, he'll have to answer to a higher authority. You can run, but you can't hide, shrub.

8. "Rogue Nation"? Naaaaah....we're the "good" guys.
All those bodies we leave lying around while "building democracy" are just "unfortunate and regrettable mistakes" certainly not due to criminality by our politicians and heroic military. Why have a court, we already believe in "justice" as long as we get to be the judges.

9. Absolutely astounding.
The lengths these people will go to in order to alienate the rest of the world. Either shield our criminals or sever ties? What kind of choice is that? Faith in justice vs. friendship with the US?

I would like to see a link if one's available. I don't put this past the * administration, but this is really tragically stupid.
