Not Sure Bush Is Going to Get the Agenda He Wants
The answer may be sitting (figuratively speaking) right on my doorstep.

I live in Maine and my two Republican Senators (Snow and Collins) are not just moderates, but we are "blue" from top to bottom. We have a Dem govenor and control of both Houses of the Legislature and we voted big time Kerry (didn't have to split our EV's)and returned our Dem Reps to Congress. These two women don't get in because of a Republican majority but because Dems vote for them. Dems are in no mood for them to go along with Bush's Nazi agenda----if they do, they will be shown the door. But there are others.

Chaffe and Shea (sp.?) are in the same boat. Even Arlen Specter has to look over his shoulder because "blue" Pennsylvania where he fought a hard battle isn't expecting him to be Bush's water boy.

And then, out of nowhere (except their eternal greed and corruption) I see fights from others in his own party over budget and now the 9/11 Commission's recommendations. That says to me that those not of the Christian winger nutcase brigade are also jocking to take over this party. For some reason, the second term seems to give his own people a reason to break from him and start over-----and I think Georgie will end up breaking from the Christian right in a lot of things (stem cell and the money to be made there by business) because he doesn't need them anymore.

George may just have to up and blow up/kill some more Americans to get all the strays back in the pig pen.........

1. David Brooks wrote something like this in the NYT
If he wants his agenda to go through, he's going to have to TRY and convince Dems to vote for it, because there's a civil war going on with the Repugs. FAT CHANCE! It's back to gridlock ... and this time we have only one party to blame.

3. Sparkle---do you think our noble spineless noodles will fold????
They better be put on notice that we will not tolerate it this time. Old Joe seems to be already praising our great CIC Bush----I want no more of this shit. No more or they can kiss off any rally by Dems behind our leaders in '06 and '08 and Reid better damn well keep them all on a leash ALL the time!

2. My problem with this is
I WANT shrub to go big for the fundies. If he does, they will crow about it so loud that even the "liberal" media won't be able to block them out and maybe, just maybe the rest of Merika will wake the f*ck up. To me that's a much easier battle to have than the corporatization.

The people shrub really wants to please are the mega-rich, mega-powerful who own the media, the voting machines, the war machines and basically now Amerika. And they have been able to keep their agenda quiet and will continue to lull the easily hypnotized to sleep. "All is well".

At least the Fundies are out in the open where we can fight them now.

6. That's why we need the opposite
I want him to piss off the fundies so bad that they go ape shit. Let them start howling at the moon and making like the loony tunes that they really are.

The sooner Democrats expose these nut-cases, the sooner the nation realizes what a crook they have for a President.

Bush cannot please both the corporate kings and the fundie nut-cases, they are just too incompatible. Someone has to lose in this scenario and you can bet it won't be the Corpo Crooks.

Let the assholes self-destruct.

8. thanks for the laugh...
I really enjoyed your "ape shit", "howl at the moon", "fundie nut-cases". Can't believe the religiously-preoccupied mental patients are in charge of asylum USA.

5. Bush seems to be losing his power quickly
and the other Republicans are starting to fight for their own issues.

Like the Budget and the Security Issues.

I think this may get really interesting. If those guys don't care about Bush any more - because he doesn't need to get elected again - then we might see some fun stuff.

7. I tend to agree
There might a competition among the right wing to see who can be more on the right. And this leads to an interesting. How long can someone continue moving to the right until they arrive to the left lol
