Am sending 3 packages out to AnySoldier
tomorrow. They are going to 3 women in Afghanistan who work to locate landmines.

These kids (well, kids to me anyway) like to get alot of letters so if anyone wants to PM me with a message I'll print out and send with other goodies.

Any suggestions on what else to send? I've got "girlie" type hygiene items, snacks, a pair of fuzzy socks, flavored hot chocolate and blank Christmas cards.

Thanks! :)

3. Beanie babies
I saw on one site a picture of a soldier given beanie babies to local kids. Great way to put a smile on a kids faces.

4. I thought they weren't taking packages
addressed to anysoldier anymore. It was at least a year ago I heard that you had to have any packages addressed to a specific soldier because they were having trouble handling all the anysoldier packages..

5. This is what is says according to their unit representative:
"We are a manual mine clearance squad. We go out and locate landmines and mark them for removal."

There's one person in the unit that gives his/her name to use and distributes packages to those who don't get much mail.

Good idea about the beanie babies.
