Curt Schilling: Bush re-election more important than the Red Sox
Curt Schilling is not done shilling for his beloved W. Appearing on FOX television's "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" he said...

Curt: "I got trashed for that here (supporting Bush in Kerry's back yard). I find it ironic, people can burn flags in this country, The KKK can march, but I can't support my President publicly? That's a joke."

(Host) Tom Arnold: "You get one choice. George Bush gets re-elected President or Red Sox win the World Series for the first time in '86 years, what are you going to choose?"

Curt: "George Bush"

5. What an idiot! No one ever said he can't support Bush publicly!
Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 04:12 PM by Brotherjohn
He just should expect the same ire from Dems that Repubs throw at celebrities who openly back Kerry. Dixie Chicks, anyone? And I don't even wanna talk about the bile that's thrown at Hollywood celebrities every day. Until Arnold ran for guv, all they ever said was that celebrities should "keep their mouth shut" about politics. Of course, they forgot that for about a week after Arnold won, and are back to it now.

Republicans can be such thin-skinned, hypocritical crybabies.

Truer words were never spake.
Miss ya, Ted!

Edited on Thu Nov-18-04 04:45 PM by tmooses
I find it ironic you can't attend "your president"'s events without signing a pledge. I think it's "ironic" people are thrown out of Bush rallies for wearing a "protect my civil liberties" tee-shirt.I also think it's kind of ironic that we have to listen to your political views on TV when all you are is a fucking pitcher with a tax break.

12. When the Sox had their parade using Duck boats...
...they should have given Schilling his very own "Chickenhawk Boat"!

What a moran. Is he even aware that all six New England states voted against that other "righty"?

13. Two things are clear:
1. He's not a true Red Sox fan even though he plays for them.

2. He's an asshole.

14. Isn't that typical of these repuke idiots. Every one of them...
... walks around with a persecution complex.

No one told schilling he couldn't publicly support a candidate.

We were ticked off at him for harshin' our buzz, dragging politics into a what should have been a total time-out from divisiveness.

It was supposed to be a celebration, jackass.

15. well
Baseball has THE strongest union in sports. Here is union man Curt Schilling supporting union hating Bush(a former baseball owner). Needless to say Curt is the poster boy for person for whom voted for the president and yet whos best interest is completely opposite that vote. It's not hard to see Curt legacy when Ken Burn III makes his Baseball 2080 documentary about the 2010s the decade that broke the union and returned ballplayers back into indentured servants. Me thinks the future MLB players will not look so kindly to ballplayers of today. Men who cried union everywhere but the polls and will eventually find out how very dumb that was.

20. Excellent point about the union!
Where would Schilling be without it? Yeah, his agent has probably earned his fees. But just wait...Schilling will do something and call his Union rep on speed dial.

Welcome to DU! :hi:

......really, he can't stop proving what a loudmouth simpleton he really is.

Besides, Curt, most Bush rallies look like a KKK march without the white hoods.

18. Him and Randy Johnson led the AZ Diamondbacks
... to the World Series win over NY Yankees here a few years ago. He is great to watch. I just don't agree with his politics. Him and Luis Gonzales were both admitted Conservatives when they played here.

22. Couple things
1. You gotta admire a guy who at least has his priorities straight. He's a critical member on a team that millions would probably kill to see win the World Series, but at least he's got his head screwed on enough to realize that in the end it's just a game and the country isn't going to change for the better or worse for it.

2. However, you can't admire him for who he would choose to sacrifice that rather meaningless game for. :puke:

24. Time to send Schilling off to Iraq
He loves Bush and his policies so much, then he can go and fight in his war then. Everybody, also sign this petition from Nader's site to get Bush impeached. Thank you!
