Overturning Roe v Wade is good. It will DESTROY the red states
The blue states will allow abortions, the red states will ban them and be over run with expenses and crime associated with unwanted births. Their economies and their quality of life will shrivel up and destroy them. The skilled people will flee those states and move to the blue states.

8. It won't be pretty for the blue states either.
There is a large imbalance in social programs right now. The red states are being funded by the labors of the blue staters. It would get much worse (for the reasons you list) if it does happen.

11. I wouldn't be too certain all the blue states will allow abortions...
in fact, I would expect many of them to curtail access. Shit, most people would vote against the Bill of Rights if it was up for a vote. Access to abortion is only safe as long as it has the weight of the constitution behind it... and that means the Supreme Court.

12. What? Republicans tossing away their favorite wedge issue?
Only if they have no other choice. In that sense, I suppose the issue of overturning Roe v Wade could be a way of determining the real influence of the fundamentalists in the Republican Party.

15. no
figure out one of your constitutional protections you'd like to give away instead. RVW is constitutional, the court keeps upholding it. Perhaps your right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness would be a better compromise/political trick.

The thought of this makes me seriously ill.
If a person is even considering abortion, they should probably have one. ya know?

21. Don't kid yourself about that
Enough of the "blue" states will have preachers working overtime to convince the socially liberal that abortion is murder that those "blue" states will be vulnerable to the new slavery, too.

What we'll have is two or three states that allow it, which means the rich and the upper middle class will maintain their access, but the ordinary people in the majority of states will be forced to seek out amateur abortionists.

The push to legalize abortion in the 60s and 70s was spearheaded by religious people. I know it's hard to believe, but religious people were the ones called to emergency rooms to minister to butchered and dying women.

Remember, wherever it happens, antiabortion legislation only stops the safe abortions. Antiabortion laws kill women, and nobody wants that to happen but the misogynists.
