Wasn't it two weeks that a man shot himself at the World Trade Center's Ground Zero? As I recall, it was in protest of the reSelection of georgie porgie (just after election day). How many more.

I remember during the Vietnam war there were monks who set themselves on fire in protest. There was a whole string of them in the middle of the square and the cameras caught it all. Awful...
